we have been hearing about all Summer! We choke over and over year after year. This throwing and running sideline to sideline almost every play then getting a sack is ridiculous!

You don’t like Mills up the middle for 3, followed by check down after check down by our heisman QB?

Mills isn't what we thought he would be so far. And either our receivers can't get open or Martinez can't find them.

They played afraid- too much brakes not enough gas... they played slow... going against their mantra cost them the game and that’s on the coaches.

There were a lot of mistakes by players, but ultimately that loss was on the coaches.

AM just looks rooted in cement back there. He just doesn't read the game very well. He doesn't feel pressure when it is coming. He waits too long, he doesn't find receivers when scrambling. He doesn't know when to run and when to throw.

I think you will see teams scheme him more this year. They see what his weaknesses are and are exploiting them.

It was happening in boulder in the 4th quarter after Nebraska didn’t put em away. Bad, just bad.

Husker’s haven’t had a good line in twenty years. And until we develop a line this is what we get.

I will add he looks confused when times are stressful way to indecisive, last year he cut it lose this year he’s thinking way to much

CU won this game based off two areas they were better: 1) Head Coach and 2) QB. Many we quick to dismiss HC Tucker but look at his resume. The man has a vast wealth of experience above Frost.

#1) is something I was not expecting. But, I have to agree with it after tonight. Talent was not the issue. The first half proved that. I disagree with #2). The offensive game calling in the second half was atrocious. Martinez should not be blamed for that.

Play calls looked unoriginal again. Their crop of new dudes either doesn't know much offense or they're way too vanilla with the calls. AM still in 7-on-7 mode when he needs to be playing actual college football.

The receivers are getting open!! That is not the problem.

The fact that barely any WR’s are getting targeted at all says a lot. Either the coaches don’t trust them or we’re just playing way too tight (I think we look constipated as F). Mike Williams, Jaron Woodyard, Jaevon McQuitty, completely absent. Miles Jones hasn’t played. Only a few targets for TE’s and Noa. A lot of throws today were right into the defense. We refuse to stretch the field vertically which is a gift to the opponent. And when we did throw deep for only the second time late in the game, we went to possibly the slowest WR (Noa). We got all this speed on the roster and aren’t using it to our advantage.
Our few completions that aren’t swing passes seem to be broken plays. We have no timed routes where we drop back and throw a strike (other than one Wandale dropped).

Second half Colorado seemed to sniff out all the line of scrimmage BS and we still refused to go over the top.

Maurice is a talent and played solid, but watching him pull up before getting hit (a la Taylor Martinez, not to mention Adrian going out of bounds 4-5 yds early) is crazy to me. Kid needs to attack when the holes aren’t there to go for 20+ yds, but he backs off.
Meanwhile, Mills couldn’t dodge a stationary bush if he had 2 minutes to think about how to get around. It’s been sad to see what a “#1 juco” gets you, even if I like his thud.

And how bout Spielman fair catching punt on 4 yd line?? He’s way too experienced for that freshman mistake.

*I want to add props for Cam Jurgens for snapping very well today (minus final play). That’s a big improvement from week 1.

This thread is about offense, but what the f*ck is going on with our ridiculous open field tackling— over-running everything, especially along the sideline? Beyond Unacceptable.

And while mentioning defense- Stille allowed himself to get blocked by Montez. Ridiculous. It didn’t result in anything bad, but if you’re 295 lbs of tank and the opposing 190lb QB who’d rather play basketball tries to block you, you run right through him and make him afraid to ever attempt that again.

Seriously, this team is way too passive. Maybe the rebuild is just taking longer, but given the pieces I’m struggling to justify why Frost doesn’t have his team ready.

The offense was explosive. It blew up right in our face. Like an M-80 with a short fuse.

First thing to go when the defense is tired is tackling.

The real “explosiveness” came after that great BBQ meal I had before lunch and prior to watching that F’in game that stressed me out so much in the second half I had to pull over on the side of the road and let her rip. Was that TMI bros
