God knows I had my disagreements with 2 of the 3 guys we're talking about. I've also said of all the posters here I've not met Nuts would be the one I'd like to meet most. Just seems like a great guy. I've met Bus and have nothing but good things to say.
I believe Nuts and Bus could have avoided the ban if they wanted but both are too strong personalities to take a step back. They both could be here if they wanted so while they are missed, I shed no tears because it's their decision.
As I said earlier, I didn't know Shill was MIA. Shame as he brought strong and not always popular opinions to the board. A real contributor.
The thing guys is we all know there are rules. John doesn't have a quick hook. He tries to reason with posters to find the way out of personal issues. Finally, it's a privilege to post here, not a right. Follow the simple guidelines and all is fine.

That is correct - he was banned for 24 hours back when he was begging for it, but apparently did not read the ban notice.
I'm afraid you got the wrong license plate on that one RU5781. Never had your email address and would never contact you if I did. Lots of posters here with knight in their screen names.

BAC is absolutely the most valuable fan Men's Basletball has. If you can imagine fans getting a MVF trophy BAC would have 25 consecutive trophies line on his mantle. I've had players ask me to point him out and I'm not a personal friend of his. Programs like Notre Dame, Duke, Kentucky are lucky to have one fan that can match Bac's commitment. As far as our most dedicated fans go, we are a top 20 program.... it is the rest of the program that has to measure up.
"Sunshine Mafia", "Blue Sky Crowd", "whatever-tard".. it is using terms like this that lead down the path of ban.. and rightly so.
If we all discussed the issues at hand and stopped trying to make points by trying to label specific posters or groups of posters then no one would get banned for it. There have been requests, forum rules and other guidance for posters to follow to avoid banning for this reason. If such rules are followed we'll all be better off for it.

Bac- glad to see you are not or were not banned. We argue a lot but I always enjoy your posting. Same with Shill- have no idea what he may have done.
WB- yeah- I think he argues with everyone anymore though I do hear from very good people that he is in fact a great guy. But WB did everything in his power to get banned.
Nuts- believe me when I say it wasn't from anyone running to John or any specific post.
For those that think bans are handed out because someone ran to John...nice try. John and the mods- actually do read their own board. And even if someone reported you to John, he wil ALWAYS ask you for your side of the story and try his best to find a reasonable resolution.

Not true. Sent multiple emails to John O about a ban and heard crickets.
Also, kind of lame to speculate on Nuts' ban since you don't know what you're talking about.

Fanu- I'm assuming you are talking about being banned and john never answered why. To be honest, I have a friend that was banned, no reason given and he has emailed several times to find out why and for how long. Same crickets...but I also know he was banned for something he did and the owner took offense to it and it was not due to someone complaining. Maybe yours was the same situation.
As for nuts- let's say not so much speculation but details are not needed. I also agree that having nuts back would be nice but understand he is not making that too easy on John.
Most valuable? Maybe BKin118 would fit that better but after him there is no more dedicated fan than Bac and for that he deserves a nice pat on the back or Bac lol..

Well, mine was more a matter of a rogue moderator taking exception to being called out, within the no holds barred environment of the CE board. Seeing as how I didn't violate any rules, I contacted John twice to see WTF and heard nothing. Was reinstated a few weeks later with no notice or answer from John. Whatever, but worth noting the ban policy here is pretty gray and the team not always particularly responsive. And apparently the moderators have the leeway to drop a ban for personal disagreements.
Fair enough on Nuts.
When I want to hear what some some cranky old timer from Florida thinks of the situation, I'll tag you in.
All I know is: I was going at it hot and heavy disagreeing with another poster and that poster with me.
John contacted me and told me to cool it and I knew what would happen if I didn't.
So the heat wave became a cold front and the hammer never came down on me.
I'm not sure if others get warnings before the ban, only know I was given a chance to keep from one.
That post from RU62 when he asked Julie in person at an RU event if she knew the party planner was indeed epic. And the fallout from that post was some of the best entertainment on this board in quite some time.
