The top player for Memphis BB has been ruled ineligible by NCAA. Supposedly, Hardaway helped his family move to Memphis when the kid was in HS. Hardaway was coaching HS ball then. Because Hardaway is considered a Memphis booster.....they saw it is a no no. At the time Hardaway had not been hired by Memphis...so reported. The k8ds last name is Wiseman. Supposedly gonna be the number one draft next year.

How does this make sense....if Hardaway wasnt even hired by Memphis at that time

Hardaway went to school at Memphis and I’m sure has donated money to Memphis. By the rules, he is a booster. It doesn’t really matter if he was the coach at the time or not.

So the kid has to sit out the year.....then can transfer elsewhere? What I read is that he had been deemed eligible by the ncaa this summer before starting classes. But then the ncaa changed their mind. That is the part...if true...that bothers me. The kid could have gone to Kentucky...they wanted him.

the ncaa remains a complete joke

1 and done rule needs to go. this kid should be on an nba roster, instead he'll be playing pickup at the local Y thanks to the blowhard hypocrites constantly banging the drum of the sanctity of the student athlete and amateur sports while cashing a never ending stream of checks.
