To the OP, I never spewed hate on either the players or Cal but do admit to being very disappointed with a 1-6 start to the season and excuse me for some criticism that may have been directed at the time. 1-6 is unacceptable to me for any UK basketball team in any season. I have never given up on the team but I feel "true" UK fans are entitled to make fair critism when we see things aren't going right. We aren't dumb when it comes to knowing basketball.
We are still 4-6 with Texas this month and Alabama twice.
Cal was still WRONG. I will give Cal credit for one thing. Finally listening to the fans you just mentioned. I haven’t been calling for him to be fired, but I have been vocal for him to make personal changes. PLAY DONTAIE. Finally, he did. And guess what, we are 3-0 since he’s played the minutes he deserves.
Make no mistake, us who have been very vocal, we have righted this ship. If it wasn’t for us, we would still be losing games. If it wasn’t for us, Cal would still be doing exactly what he has been doing.

And your point? Have we lost all three of those games already in your mind? Should we cancel the season now? I saw a much better team tonight that played hard and hungry and played as a team. Excuse me for being a little optimistic.
Actually agreeing with your assessment however adding to your point to the OP that the road is still hard and people will not be happy if we falter too much further.

We are 4-6. We are a long way from being a tournament team and that’s sad. I enjoyed the win and will always cheer for the cats but the reality is we are an nit team with an outside shot at an atrocious ncaa seed. December matters and this year it is going to define our season.

We looked much better. I that’s who this team is going to be going forward but I’ll need to see that a few more times before I’m ready to trust them.

Not really drinking but maybe I should start. I agree that we put ourselves in a bad place with the horrible start and I think some critism was justified. But, I did really like the progress I saw tonight and hope we can build on it. Texas will be very tough but a win there would go far in righting the ship.
Alabama is playing well too and, home court advantage is not really a thing this year so...
Instead of “laying low” when we are losing game after game, feel free to discuss your opinions.
Yep, those wi be big games, no doubt. I think Bama has been a surprise in the conference and should be respected. We are beginning to find our way and, with Brooks return, we may just be coming into those games in higher gear. Should be an interesting and fun SEC Tourney this year too.

How can it be exhausted, you sound like a fair wether fan. I love cal when he dominates and now you don’t because of a down year and a couple loses that maybe shouldn’t have happened. Overall he’s been great for UK and deserves the chance to turn it around.
I'm 100% on board with him being the coach as long as he's willing to change. Pretty sure I've been on this board for over ten years. I've been diehard since I was 9 years old. Don't be silly.

Mission Accomplished! Since Cal and the team looked great, I knew you wouldn’t have a reason to hate on either after the game. I started the thread so you would have a place to continue your attacks and spew your hate. After reading your post it appears to have worked. You should be thanking me not attacking me.
For those attacking me, please allow me to retort Your bogus claims. I’ve been a fan long before some of you were born. I joined the board in 2011, and before that subscribed to the Cats Pause. I don’t post often when the board is mostly filled with threads hating on our coach and team. I do read RR and HOB everyday, because I like to keep up with everything UK. Rupp was our coach when I started following UK in 1966. UK has had great teams and some not so great, but I’ve always remained loyal to the program. UK is not going to win a NC every year, and they are not going to be great every year. They will be competitive, and most years they will be in the hunt for a NC. I’m a Cal and team supporter, and I don’t think there is anyone else that could recruit, coach and deal with our fan base any better than Cal. Some of you want him fired. Some of you want him to change how he recruits. Some of you want to tell him how to coach. Am I satisfied with where we are right now? No. Would I be happier with a winning record? Yes. Has Cal made some mistakes? Yes. His biggest mistake this year was not playing Allen sooner, and we can all agree on that fact.
I believe the light finally came on for some of our players yesterday. This happens every year and it’s different for every kid. We have a couple of players still struggling, but the light is flickering for them. Will we win every game going forward? Most likely not. Will we be competitive in every game going forward? I think so. I choose to support Cal, because I don’t believe there is another coach that could do better year in and year out. We all have choices in life, and I’m happy with mine. I believe this team can be great going forward. I think we all witnessed a group of kids finally learning to play together as a team yesterday.

I think what You & Cal mean to say is "thank you", and those whose critical points were taken to heart and changed say "your welcome"
4-6 and people taking victory laps ? Crazy fan base we have. I am thrilled to be 3-0 in the SEC but we are Kentucky fans we expect excellence and 4-6 sure isn't it. Goal isn't to just make the NCAA tournament (though that will be this year's goal) it's to make final fours and win National Championships.

I still think the long term sustainability of his method of being terrible for up to 2/3rds of the season is questionable. Had he finished off some of those championship runs, and we had more titles, I think people’s patience would be much higher.
