I mean best case scenario looks to be 7 wins. But that means wins over Wisky,, MSU, Minn, Nebraska. Gonna be hard. Without MG likely impossible.

Who do we beat in the remaining schedule?
Hawks will beat Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan St to finish the conference slate at 4-5 and 6-6 overall. Before the season I had the ceiling at 9-3 with a fully functional offense and a typical Iowa defense and the floor at 5-7 with a typical Iowa offense and a slightly down Iowa defense. The defense is typical. The offense a tic above a very low bar.

I said 7-5. 8-4, MAYBE 9-3 if Gronowski had a great year and the cornerbacks were decent. 6-6, 5-7 for the reasons you mentioned.

You beat wisky. I think 8-4 is very reasonable. You lose and 6-6 is going to be tough to get too. The losses are really tough to swallow. Both were winnable. Even splitting Indy and isu and the season outlook is much better. I think we matchup against PSU better. Have to get one upset at home so I say them. Get wisky, msu and minny. Win a close dogfight at nebby and boom 8-4. But damn what if, up to speed MG against isu and a whole game healthy MG against Indy, might be 5-0 right now.

I don’t think those coaches are good enough to overcome the drag into the mud Kirk ball. Of course all of those games are 50/50….but ever since those schools changed coaches, Kirk has had pretty good success cause their QBs aren’t very good

We’ll see how the MSU kid does this year. He was Joe Montana last year, but I think Phil will contain him

PSU down 27-7 now vs winless UCLA. Franklin might get fired on the tarmac like the Ole Miss coach got a few years ago.

PSU lost heartbreaker to Oregon

then they have to make the trip to west coast where the trad Big10 teams don’t do so well

a let down isn’t surprising.

They’re still gonna beat down Iowa

A let down? PSU is supposed to be a top ten team playing a UCLA team that fired its coach and hadn't led for ONE SECOND all season--until today. New Mexico went into the Rose Bowl recently and beat UCLA 35-10. New Mexico . . .

PSU may well come back and win this game, but UCLA is playing tough.

And I did forget that Brian Ferentz was actually paid to coach at Maryland. Of course, they were going to faulter in the second half.

Outside of whisky and minny, I don’t feel real good about having a chance at a W. That being said, it’s football so we’ll probably lose one of those and steal a couple of the others to end up 6-6.
