My response was not to your post, it was to someone else who suggested it.
I think they get worked up because it is phony as ****. If it was local phony as ****, I don't think anyone would care, but it's shoved down our throats 24/7 nationwide. I'd like to go one day without having to be told how much better everyone and the world is and how transformative and beneficial it is for our culture that this young lady got to kick a football. It's comical, and to most, it should be insulting to your intelligence. I agree, some get a little too fired up about it.
