...they were 8-2 (we were 7-2 coming off a loss at Notre Dame). I'm watching this game for the first time since and Clark Kellogg, Seth Davis and the other guy all picked Carolina before the game.

Thing is...I don't think we looked that great. Just a weird, chaotic game where we got a lot of garbage points. At least in the first half. Carolina had a TON of sloppy turnovers. That's where Wheeler thrives.

UK, UNC, and KU were vastly different teams (primarily due to health [physical and mental]; TyTy, Brooks, Grady, Love, Manek, Bacot, Martin, McCormack [sp?]) when they played each other this year.

UNC had an Hispanic big named Garcia. What happened to him? They said he was the only player to ever score 20 for Carolina and against Carolina.

our best wins happened to be the 3 teams that decided to make it a full court game. with unc it’s a source of pride since dean smith. ut had probably the deepest team in the country, and ku had us at home and obviously had some good players. so it made sense with each instance. for the most part you’re just not going to see that.

Wheeler dominated that game with 26 points and 8 assists and people on here are willing to write him off...Kind of shows therir true agenda. That or it shows their low basketball IQ...
He makes dumbass turnovers at the most critical times of the game. Usually in really tight games, where every possession is vital. Also, he can’t shoot.

The idea that Kansas and UNC wouldn't improve or adjust after those losses and a repeat contest would have the same outcome is fantasy. Just ask Tennessee the next two contests.

UNC was pretty much the same all year. They could blow the doors off an opponent when they were clicking and get blown out when they weren't. It isn't a coincidence that they blew a 25 point lead to Baylor and a 16 point lead to KU. I think there were a number of reasons for their inconsistency including players who would keep shooting when they were cold (we had that issue too) and having virtually no bench (same for us).

IIRC Wheeler just kept driving the left lane and they wouldn't put a man on him.

My UNC friends were pretty dejected after that game.
They were dejected most of the season. Until they won at Cameron they were thought to be on the bubble.

Coaching matters. We know it when we don't see it at UK.
