Are you seriously taking issue and trolling O’Connor in his first year here. I don’t like not living up to the start of the season rakings anymore than you but give the guy a break. He knows how to coach for sure. When we’ve had these comebacks everyone says he pushes all the right buttons. We are a loaded team and I’m not sure how much I love our hitting coach. It’s a simplified approach for the offense basically but still time will see. I know given more more than a year and some injuries also great recruiting we should be just fine I feel. This year is not over yet either. Folks too used to the Lemonis effect that say that about Oak year 1 or flat out expected us to not lose hardly at all. He tried to temper expectations somewhat himself. The future is bright as hell too so get ready and I’ll admit if I’m wrong but doubt I will be. Hopefully. I’m not throwing our hitting coach under the bus just saying we’ve got too much firepower for and intelligence for his seeming oversimplified approach.
They’ve been working their asses off since the fall. Why would they decide to quit on May 9? But this is a typical fan reaction. Your team lost. By a lot. What you can’t see is that Auburn is good. So is MSU.
In three games, there were two blowouts and one game that came down to one swing of the bat in the 9th inning. Nobody on Auburn’s team quit on Thursday and nobody on MSU’s team quit yesterday.
yeah, there's a reason why i only look at this forum once a week or so. the fanbase for all of our athletics are atrocious with an unhealthy emotional attachment/dependency to it. year 1 with oak and we're a top 15 team after 2 years of not even making a regional and they're unhappy about it. it's insane. some of these people need to take a step back and look at themselves in the mirror
My original post was simply regarding how the team, once Mac went out, appeared to lose concentration and play with less effort.
It wasn’t an indictment on the coaching staff or the season...only yesterday’s game.
I can't speak for those that are on the verge of calling for Oak to be fired...they're idiots and/or trolls.
JP and Oak even made similar comments during and after the game, so if I’m off base, then I guess they are too.
But hey, I’m sure some Kentucky fan has a much better pulse on Mississippi State baseball than those two
All that research for me, get a life Barney Fife. I got kicked off a long time ago for calling out Lemonis as a trash hire, right after the natty. And right on cue, members like you got their little itty bitty feelings hurt. Shortly after that, everyone was saying the exact same comments I was. The mentality and moderation comes across very soft.
Bottom line is we've lost to all the good teams, which means we're not one of the good teams, we're a mediocre SEC team

Butch Thompson is one helluva coach too and I tried telling some of you people that last year. Maybe now some will listen but that's a moot point now.
We are elite vs. average teams, average vs. elite teams. No shame in that, we will likely win a regional then lose a Super. Still a good year and nice turnaround.
