Fleck usually does his weekly press conference on Monday afternoon, so soon, I guess. I'm sure he'll say they're planning on playing.

Say what you want about Fleck, this stands in stark contrast to Wisconsin's approach earlier this season.

In which case, they were also clear to play, using the exact same protocols, but opted not to.

it was still probably good for NEB not to play a short handed wisconsin team. all in all the schedule ended up being an absolutely kiss for Frost. Penn State was a shocking mess and still outplayed NeB but lost on turnovers. NeB avoided a loss to wisconsin. Purdue and minnesota 2 teams predicted to be better are clearly not and clearly worse. if it weren't for 1 game with OSU the NeB schedule might have been the easiest in the country

Nebraska's opponents thus far are 21-16, and NU has played three of the top four teams in the conference. They are 23-19 if you count Minnesota:
  • Ohio State (5-0)
  • Northwestern (5-1)
  • Penn State (2-5)
  • Illinois (2-4)
  • Iowa (5-2)
  • Purdue (2-4)
Obvioiusly, Nebraska's opponents record is boosted because Nebraska has lost four of six, but even if you subtract Nebraska's record from its opponents' record, the opponents are 19-17 against the rest of their schedule.

Iowa's opponents are 19-26, and they have played one of the three other top four teams in the conference. They are 21-28 if you count Wisconsin:
  • Purdue (2-4)
  • Northwestern (5-1)
  • Michigan State (2-5)
  • Minnesota (2-3)
  • Penn State (2-5)
  • Nebraska (2-4)
  • Illinois (2-4)
Obviously, Iowa's opponents record suffers because Iowa has won more games, but even if you subtract Iowa's 5-2 record from their opponents' record, the opponents are still just 17-21 against the rest of their schedule.

So tell me again that Nebraska has the easiest schedule in the U.S. and you'll be wrong a second time.

No, we're not good. Yes, Iowa is better. But don't fabricate something just because it feels true to you.

Yep, their loss. They still would have won quite easily with even 20-30 players out.

Quit with the facts...it's confusing for Hawkeye fans
Another fact - Iowa sucks regardless of records

Good analysis. I will add that Iowa is more disciplined than we are and that’s why they won. We’re on par with them on everything else.

That's one possibility.

Another possibility is that we would have beat them like 50% of the teams they played this season.

I think the larger point is that Barry Alvarez has developed a mangina.

Wisconsin is ******* horrible. They smoke an Illinois team...they literally get abused by NW...they get embarrassed by an Indiana team with no QB. They suck and have gotten worse each week. Shocker that once there was game film on their horrible QB it became super easy to stop him. Hmmmm

1 TD and 4 picks for that dork in their losses...Film Don't Lie.

Is there any way we can crap the bed against this COVID-ravaged team? Answer: Of course we could.

WTF did I just read? Nebraska has played 3 Top 20 teams in 6 games and you think it was the easiest schedule in the country?

You point out that PSU outplayed Nebraska, but no mention that Nebraska did the same to Iowa and NW?

EDIT: Didn't notice that you are an Iowa troll. That would explain the ignorance, carry on.

So it looks like Fleck isn't a flake after all. Just a strange cat. And one that must be beaten soundly.

What has B!tchconsin done over the last few weeks that makes you think they are an automatic loss for Nebraska?

Clearly the quality of the Big 10 is just down this year. When Penn State and Michigan suck, and Wisconsin is only OK, the conference is going to look weak. Indiana is a pleasant surprise but Iowa and Northwestern are mostly benefitting from the lack of quality competition. If we hadn't soiled ourselves against Illinois, 2 close losses to good but not great teams and one blowout loss against a great team would make for an OK season.
