I'm sure this has been discussed but I just missed it. If I understand correctly, he can join as soon as the fall semester ends. If this is true, what day can he practice and what game would be his first? I'm not sure of the school schedule.

If I'm guessing, I would say he could practice as early as the end of the week of December 14-18 and then be available as early as the Ohio State game on December 18. He may not be available until the Louisville game, though.

I'm just curious.

Fall semester officially ends on December 18. I've always been under the impression he'd be eligible as soon as the fall semester ends, but idk for sure.

Most people are sleeping on what this kid can do for this team, this year. He's an absolute load in the paint and plays strong, something we don't have at that position outside of Humphries. We will need that type of player against teams with more physical presence on the inside.

I think you are dead on. He can really score inside with a number of moves.

I like our team this year, but if this kid wants to join this year's squad, you have to let him. We are missing muscle inside the paint. This kid will bring plenty of that. He will not be bullied nor pushed around inside. The ones that don't want this kid playing this year will change their mind as soon as we have a game that Skal and Lee gets bullied inside and can do nothing about it. We need strength in the post and this kid brings just that. Let him play and let's complete our great team. We don't even need the kid to score. Just play D and rebound the ball. It's as simple as that!

He's always been assumed to be joining the team mid season (confirmed a few weeks ago). The question has been whether he'd show up ready to contribute some off the bench, or if he'd be a garbage time or severe foul trouble body this year. We'll have to see if he can fit in to the team before even learning how to stretch and lace up his shoes.

Does anyone know when his high school classes finish up? I thought I read that it was more towards late December.

With the talent Cal is bringing in next year I wonder if Tai would likely get more playing time this year. You can always use more depth but I am OK with whatever he and the coaches decide.

On the other hand it sure would be fun at half time to play the monty python lumberjack song.
