My guess is we spent more than double on the 3 you mentioned when combined.

I think we spent like $2.75m for all three combined.
Yeah, seems to me Sha is shopping in the less than or equal to $1M bucket for his starters. I figure we spent around $4M on our 6 guards. I really don't have any idea what Mariano got.

I would have thought based upon the absurd inflation that we've heard about for 2026, that number would have been higher - $5-$6 million. I hope you're right, Fishjam.

Until he hurt is ankle at the Garden in the St. John's game. Guy was a warrior! 22 rebounds vs Providence. Give me another Payne any day.
You forgot to mention all the games he was a no show and completely dominated by bigger centers. He also was notorious for fumbling the pass he got or rebound. I remember one time he was all alone and went up to dunk or lay the ball in the basket and it flew out of his hands. I thought all season he had issues holding on to a pass or rebound and thought he had a hand injury. Let's say I was thinking that must be the reason since he had fingers taped. I give him credit since he was the only option with Hines still getting his feet wet and Godswill injured.

Lol. What Division are we moving down to? 2 or 3? Maybe NAIA?
Not sure why you are so down on Mbaye. He had a lot of fanfare when he came here. And if you search the web you will find some really nice stuff about him. Videos etc. I know he was a project but the old adage that you can't teach height is still true. Surround him with good players and all he has to do is run the court, rebound, block shots and set screens. Sha surely taught him that during his 2 years here otherwise Sha should be fired for incompetence.

The only fanfare was from you. He scored a whopping 26 points total as a high school senior.

Rumor - Josiah Parker being linked to Georgetown per Twitter. Again just a rumor but the Gtown fans appear to be celebrating a commit.

Assane Mbaye, a 7-foot-3 big man in the class of 2024, has committed to Seton Hall, he announced Thursday night.

The Patrick School product (NJ) recorded 41 blocks in just 12 in-state games last season as TPS went onto a 27-4 national record and 12-0 in those games.

Watch the video of him in practice in Walsh and open your eyes to what went down!

Bing Videos

He played sparingly his junior season, but Patrick School coach Chris Chavannes said “he has since shown incredible growth and potential. His dedication and work ethic are throwbacks, and it’s clear that he has a bright future ahead in basketball. It’s wonderful to see how far he has come since arrival from the Canary Islands.”
Chavannes added: “Assane Mbaye has emerged as a standout player following a successful season and played a key role in the Patrick School’s season.
“Since the season concluded, Assane has been actively exploring opportunities with various local and national schools and has received multiple offers, with increased interest in recent times.

“Notably, his most recent workout was with Seton University under the guidance of Coach Holloway and his coaching staff, including [graduating big man] Jaden Bediako. Al Dawes also assisted after his workout. The intense session focused on skill development, team strategies, and both offensive and defensive concepts. Assane’s performance during the workout left a lasting, with Coach Holloway providing valuable guidance through a professional workout.
“Assane and I discussed the potential for him to further his game at Seton Hall, emphasizing the importance of ongoing skill enhancement and physical strength in determining his contribution timeline. Overall, the pro-level workout showcased Assane’s capabilities and highlighted his potential for growth and success at Seton Hall.”

This board and SHU fans need a solid big to commit soon or folks will be jumping overboard. We are who we are. It does not appear that things are changing at SHU even with a GM in place.

At this point it appears that Piratz will play the 4, SPK will be our undersized center and Dehere will be the three at 5-9 but I heard he plays bigger than his height. I'll continue as waterboy but I'm ready to go if needed. All come at a home team discount. Fishjam is taking over at GM. Seton 75 will take the priests role because our priest wanted too much in NIL.
FYI I jumped already

I can't rebound and I don't play any defense. I'm perfect for the 5 spot!

He came in as a walk on so I'm not sure how much fanfare he would have garnered.

How about because his current collegiate highlight involves his one on one loss to a 5’11 or so 50-year old YouTuber with a pot belly named George the Messiah at a park in Linden.

This was a put on at best and not what you would have seen if you looked at the Bing video of him in Walsh actually playing 5 on 5 against kids who were prized recruits Sha brought in! Go look at the Bing Video of him in Walsh against Payne! Not this commercial video that was done for what purpose? To amuse idiots?

He was a 7-2 walk on. What does that tell you?

Chier Ajou was 7-2…. did you think he was any good? How about Frank Torella?

Just watch the video and see what he can do on the court against kids who were NOT walkons!
Why did he not play much in high school? How many stars was he? Why was he a walk on at SHU if so great? Why did he not sniff the court for two years? What is his portal transfer ranking? What schools are interested in him for this upcoming season? Will he be starter at his new school?

All these alone mean little, but when combined you can see a pattern.

Hope he finds a good school, gets playing time and enjoys his college years.

So he consented to a “put on” so he could be publicly shamed on the internet forever? What?! Soft served.

His most impressive stat is he committed more than 26 fouls per 40 minutes last year.

Admittedly his three minutes played was a small sample size but I'm confident he could have gotten to a foul per minute if he tried.

And why did Sha bring him on board and keep him around and give him a scholarship in his second year?

Because he was a project and based on his whole 5 minutes of playing time in 2 years, seems like long shot project that did not pan out here. We had open scholarship last year and gave it to him after being a walk on previous year. Nothing against kid, I liked him, wish he produced & hope he turns into a player somewhere, but your obsession with him is just a little weird.

Maybe it was for fun? Maybe he got money to do it? Maybe he was taken advantage of?
It's "fun" to get posted up by a boomer when you're a teenage 7'3 D1 athlete?

He got paid to lose to a boomer publicly?

What part of him getting scored on is "being taken advantage of"? That fat shamoo shouldn't even be able to get a shot off against a 7'3 D1 player.

If any of your three suggestions are accurate, it's exactly why he hasn't seen one second of real playing time yet. Gabriel was ahead of him on the depth chart. Just drop it already. He doesn't have the makings of a variety athlete. And that's ok, it really doesn't matter.

He had zero fanfare. That is complete fiction.
