What is up with people that can't run back the St Pete game.

1. Wheeler had 6 T0s...and 3 down the stretch of last 5 minutes
2. Also the St Pete guard had 27 pts and abused Wheeler and TyTy the entire game on defensive end....along with the white kid with the porn stache who lit up Grady.
3. Wheeler was scared out of his pants at the FT line...total choke job at the line.

Wheeler was a huge part of the St Pete disaster behind Grady and TyTy....I had no problem with Mintz in that game to be honest.

We know that Grady & TyTy were playing hurt, too, right? It was said that Grady had to crawl inside the locker room after the game, or something along those lines. Point is, he hurt too badly to even walk right. That bs is what makes the Sharpe situation even more infuriating. But, it’s amazing how ppl will trash two injured players, gutting it out, in order to prop up Wheeler. TyTy & Grady had an excuse for playing poorly. And, with 6 TOs to match his 6 assists, bad defense & FT misses, I don’t understand why Wheeler gets a pass & supposedly didn’t hurt us.
If wheeler was a a UK caliber pg when players were breaking down around him he would have put the team on his back. Wheeler does not have that kind of skill. So what he was an assist leader. That’s all I hear about his assists. You gotta make shots, you can’t let your guy torch you for 27 points, you have to have the ability to create for yourself. Wheeler can lob it to oscar and push the pace which when he’s out of sync with the team it leads to chaos. Wheeler is limited in so many ways that it prevents the team from being able to run a half court offense. Once you take wheeeler speed all that’s left is a 5’7” maybe 5’8” who can’t defend in the halfcourt bc he gets shot over and a guy offensively they leave alone bc he can’t shoot and his speed is negated in the half court. It’s not that he had terrible numbers against st Pete it’s that he didn’t have the ability to put the team on his back. Wheeler is a good player but he isn’t UK or title good. Maybe he can get a stacked team to ss but if he’s the pg come March we go home by ss.

I think there are six guys on the squad capable of making more than one in three three-point shots. So if teams went to pack it in and dare Wheeler shoot.... have at it boys.
So it makes us better to play 4-5? It’s gonna make what shooters we have better when teams can rotate and double the shooters? I don’t see your logic here.

Wheeler has a great shot at gaining the UK single season assist record this season, sorry but that’s UK caliber; plus he is a blur with the basketball. Elite handles, speed and deft passing skills.
You dont have to be able to dunk and shoot 60% from 3 to be a UK “caliber” pg.

He’s got a great chance at playing 2 years and winning only 1 or two ncaa tourney games too. What’s more important to you? A single individual achievement or winning? I mean mintz lead the team in scoring when we won 9 games. Assists are overrated if that’s all that’s in your bag. Pg needs to be the most dynamic player on the floor. The guy who makes great decisions and like I said at UK needs to be able to put the team on his back when others are injured or sucking. He needs to be the most consistent player on the team. Wheeler is none of these. He can push the pace with teams who will run with us and can bounce or lob the ball into Oscar. When wheeler can break away with his speed he looks very good but that isn’t happening in tournament time in ncaa basketball

He lead the SEC in assists the last 2 years..and played well against good teams..I dont know what more you want.
How many ncaa tournament games he win the last two years? I mean really. Are we going for individual stats here or winning?

If you really believe that first part you need to put the Bong down dude. This team is minimum EE and you know it thats why Im going to give you a break.

Nope. Believe it all you want but last year you were bullish on the team and what happened? Even an EE would be another massive miss with a roster that should be top 2-3 all year. It won’t be though not with our most important player as limited as he is. I called it last year was 100% right then and I’m calling it now. If wheeler is our ft pg going into March we are gone by sweet sixteen.

They still don't see it and apparently never will. Dude doesn't have it. He never will. As long as he plays bulk of the minutes at PG, this team will not advance far in March. We can only hope that other guys so outshine him in their limited minutes and roles, that Cal is forced to send him to the bench.

Dude is going to lead the SEC in assists for three straight years, is a great defender, and the kind of tough, experienced point guard that we would hate to see in March if he played for another team. He also seems like a great kid and represents UK like a champ.

If his shooting is an issue in a particular game, Wallace is a fantastic backup option. I'm a huge fan of the kid and if basketball doesn't work out, I'd hire him in a minute.

Wheeler was 4-8 from the field. Tyty was 2-10. Wheeler did have 6 turnovers. But he did have 6 assists. Tyty had 2 turnovers, but only 1 assist… Tyty also got beat many times on back door cuts (along with Mintz). So I’ll ask again who was better? Look at the numbers. People talk about turnovers but fail to mention assists. And fail to mention he was 50% from the floor why Tyty was 2-10 and Grady was 1-9…. Yeah they were much worse then Wheeler.
Sure he missed big free throws. But if the rest of the guards weren’t so bad both offensively and defensively, it wouldn’t have come down to that.
But it’s a new season and Wheeler is a stud pg. lucky to have him
At least Wheeler attempted to get Oscar the ball at the end. He made a bad pass but nobody else looked for him and look at that box score.

Wheeler wasn’t even a top 3 reason we lost that game so don’t know why that is relevant.
He threw a pass out of bounds and missed 2 free throws that killed us against St Peters. Plus he doesn't know what to do against a Zone. That's more than 3 top reason's

The last two seasons he led the sec in assists his team won zero games in the tournament. I don’t get the fawning over his assist totals they have yielded zero results.

He played pretty good against UNC and Kansas when we had a healthy team. I guess you forgot those games.

I sure hope so. You are ever the optimist. I really, really hope you get to rub everybody’s nose in it when we win number nine.

If Wheeler leads us to the promised land, I will gladly eat my share of the crow.
Sorry, there won't be enough to go around, You might be able to get a tailfeather but I doubt it.
