Wheeler is so fast and when he’s out of control oscar nor anyone have time to warn him. I don’t even think he would hear a guy he seems to tune everything out when he’s in wild play mode.

And the issue is I don’t think a lot of these fans have been to away games. YOU CANT HEAR SOMEONE CALL A SCREEN in these games. Wheeler is the first person I’ve ever seen flop around like he just got shot after a stationary screen. Jesus. Poor Oscar lol. He’s not doing anything wrong and getting blamed for it.

Tyler Ulis would be laughing at Wheeler and so would we if this was at Georgia.

Look wheeler has very little court awareness. I’ve been saying since the first time, and he nearly did it again two weeks ago, twice today. You have to feel for screens. It’s not on Oscar.
Absolutely correct on the court awareness, but Oscar shoulders some of the blame. You can’t be 8 feet away from the screen. For as good as he is and how hard he plays….he’s atrocious in screen/roll situations.

He might legitimately be getting hurt, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to Ryan Harrow flashbacks.

The second one in this game didn't look all that bad at all. Maybe he was still feeling the effects from the first hit I don't know.

The first one in this game and the one vs LSU did look like they could have been painful.

Yep...I thought about Ulis being tough as nails. Big difference between those two.

He isn’t the first player to spend a lot of time on the ground. MKG was notorious for it, and I never thought he was soft.

But it does become a topic of conversation after a while. Hard not to notice it.

My idea to stop this.

Stop pressuring the ball with 1 guy who isn't really even pressuring the ball until the guy starts running towards halfcourt. If we are going to pressure we do it full bore(2-3 guards or 2 guards and Toppin) and make the guy who would normally be screening have to become a ballhandler. If he has the ball or is needed to get the ball to alleviate the pressure then he can't set a screen.

Just a thought.

You're a POS. What a low life. Probably a puss too.
Would you consider yourself someone who is fair-minded and willing to engage in an open discussion, willing to hear all sides ... or ... do you normally resort to such stupid and crude commentary? Just curious but I have a feeling I already know the answer.

I've taken worse hits, way worse, albeit on the football field. I've taken plenty of hard screens too.
Were they hits by 7 foot guys while you weren't wearing pads or any other protective gear? Are you the same size as Wheeler while being hit by someone more than a foot taller and weighing considerably more?

2 screens 2 has to leave the game. Like wtf I've never seen anything like it.
Hey Dr Smartass. Once you have a concussion/neck injury you are extremely more likely to get another. I’m sure that whiplash felt great on his revolving neck.

Least we know who the complete ******* was that called in to the post game show accusing Wheeler of flopping.

Serisouly, why do we shift on our own players so damn much? My God.

In the presser Cal told Wheeler to just sit out the last four mins of the game and Wheeler wasn't having any of that. He wanted back in.

Maybe I'm completely wrong but Wheeler to me really doesn't strike me as someone that I would classify as soft.
Agree.Wheeler always plays very hard.Sometimes he does dumb things but I think it's just trying too hard to make things happen.

The fact he came back in he game shows his grit and heart. We have some very piss poor “fans” here at the moment.

TyTy probably y would’ve come back in to but probably team trainer shut that down.

Our dudes fight.

All I will say is, if that is all it takes to get Wheeler out of the game. Every coach in this conference is drawing it up as we speak. I think the jerking his head back, is causing his own injury trying to sell it. I like the kid but he is going to have to toughen up to play with the big boys imo.

These are some of the hardest screens in the past but all these guys get up and play? Idk Maybe wheeler is just taking the hardest screens ever. Wheelers screens aren't even being leaned into which makes it weird

Lol. Wheeler isn’t built like a pro player dude. Sure. He needs to hit the gym some and bulk up. Most college players do. Comparing college sports to pro sports is not even close. Go ask any college rb that thinks they are God’s gift to football the first time they find out the MLBs are nearly as fast as they are. Sure once they’ve been in the league a couple of years they usually can hang, but most college level talent gets a very rude awakening at the next level.

Landing on a foot takes you out? Spraining an ankle makes you cry on the floor? Like come on kid are you made of toilet paper? I cant rely on a guard that cant land on a foot and 6'3" to boot. Bring on Sharpe.

Like TyTy, we aren't winning with these guys not at full speed.

Our backcourt is solid, but on these road games, they are going to take licks and not get the call.
I'm seeing a lot of toughness out of our guys, but you can't do anything about a no call.
