Avery @ Hendersonville- 49-14 Hendersonville. The Avery reality tour will be making it's next stop this week in Hendersonville and I would be shocked if it went well for the Vikings. Last year the game really got out of hand with a 78-26 final and this year's matchup will not be close either. I do not expect it to get that out of hand again, just because Avery is noticeably better than they were last year, but that doesn't mean I expect this to be competitive. The real question is how many total points will be scored. A couple of weeks ago, I would have viewed this as a 60-30 game, but that is also when the Avery offense was looking a little better. Coming off 7 points against Owen and 7 points against Mountain Heritage, it appears the Avery offense has settled into traditional Avery land. Expect Hendo to jump out on them early and to coast to another easy victory.

Owen @ Madison- 35-7 Owen. Madison has not went over 10 points since September 18th against Avery, so it has been roughly a month since their offense did anything noteworthy. Friday they will be hosting a very respectable Owen team who will enjoy seeing someone not named Mitchell or Hendersonville for a change. Like most Madison games, this should be over pretty early and I expect Owen to milk the clock for the majority of the game, which will keep their score on the lower side. Madison just gave up 48 to a bad Polk team however, so the Warhorses putting up 40+ is certainly not off the table. Expect Madison to Madison, and for Owen to handle business.

Mountain Heritage @ Mitchell- 26-21 Mountain Heritage. This is clearly the premier matchup in the WHC this week, and should be one of the best games in the state from a competitiveness and atmosphere standpoint. Both teams are fighting for the #2 spot in the conference and potentially the #1 spot depending on how Hendersonville vs Mountain Heritage goes later. Ledger will be rocking and the stands will be packed for one of the best rivalries the mountains has to offer. These teams play close games and simply do not like each other. Expect this game to be a traditional grind it out hard running game with limited times the ball is in the air. Mitchell brings the superior defense into this matchup and the Cougars bring the superior offense. Chances are this game will come down to a fumble, or when one of the coaches gets brave and throws a bomb for a TD after 30 runs in a row. I'm predicting the difference maker in this game to be the Mountain Heritage QB making a big play happen either with his legs or with arm late in the game and it will be the deciding blow. However, a Mitchell victory would not surprise me in the slightest.
