we have zero players who have played a varsity snap for mallard creek. you salty about the granite bears collapse too?
That statement has nothing to do with Granite. What you'll find is that Corvian, along with all of the other charter schools, are very disliked. Especially in the 1A/2A ranks, the WHC and the SMC have zero respect for charter schools because they have cost those conferences multiple state titles in football and basketball due to their ability to recruit and essentially build their ideal roster. Small mountain public schools that are limited to their county will never be able to consistently compete against teams from large cities that are able to pull from thousands of kids. One of the first dominant charter schools was Winston-Salem Prep in boys basketball. For years they rolled through small public schools due to their recruiting advantages and cost Avery 1 or 2 state titles in boys basketball. Then in football, last year a Charter school beat Robbinsville for the 1A state title. There are numerous other examples of Charter schools dominating public schools, but that is just two. So as you sit atop of your mighty Cardinal, just understand that you are disliked for legitimate reasons.

corvian has a lottery system, we do not get to hand pick who gets in and who does not. I honestly think only 1 of our current players played varsity football at a 7a/8a school (and plays a new position at corvian now). not to mention, the class of 2026 had zero new seniors last year and this year, we brought in zero seniors, zero juniors, zero sophomores. our coach/ coaches have been successful for a very long time now so it’s time for yall mountain boys to respect and accept that corvian can develop talent of their own.

Cool story LOL ... i don't know what this has to do with the WHC week 10. I imagine Corvian won't have to worry about facing a WHC squad this post season.

Lottery, right. Took me about 30 seconds to find a kid on the roster who started at Hopewell. I'm sure you have quite a few coaches on staff involved with 7 on 7 teams and help get kids in, even if its before their freshman year. The NCHSAA just doesn't have the testicular fortitude to give the non-traditional schools a multiplier. They find ways around the rules and honestly, good for them. Just like you can't fault Bill Self for bringing in a 24 year old pro if the NCAA lets him. Its just not the same as the traditional schools. Like I'd love to know how many of the bball players at Bishop McGuinness or CC are actually catholic lol.

the hopewell kid was who i was referring to. one kid that played varsity football for a 7a/8a school. 1. he came in as a sophomore and did not play linebacker before corvian. we are actually not too involved with 7v7 to my knowledge. corvian is actually a public charter meaning it is subject to state laws in terms of recruitment regulations

Yep, I have been sucked in. Mr. cardinallover, with all due respect how many students live in the area that your lottery is drawing from? While I don’t have a problem with the fact you are developing players I think that is great. My biggest issue is the pool size you play in. For example, Mitchell has a Whooping 15k residents in the county. Not students. People. Regardless of what folks may think it is not the same.
Now back to the week ahead.

Polk and Avery should be a good game. As mentioned above Polk will score late to win.
Think that green bunch has a shot against Hville. Have to control time of possession and LOS. But in the end will say Hendo. (Green win will not surprise me)
Mitchell should win fairly easily if they don’t stall in the red zone.

Non WHC- Those Redbirds will win big and continue to beat their red breast.

obviously more because we’re in charlotte but that just is what it is. all the other charlotte charter schools have the same opportunity but you don’t see the same results from them. we follow the same public school athletic laws like every team in the state.

Most violations are self reported so as long as your admin cooperates you won't get caught.
