Well they were gonna call rand Paul on air and were taking about some kind of legal issues. Also were talking about the kneeling for the anthem subject. They joked when they came back on that rand Paul had them pulled off air lol.
Matt hinted at a super secret story that only he and Ryan knew about. He said he talked about it on the periscope. Anyone catch it? What was the big deal?
Jones is a lawyer who graduated from Duke. Just wanted to get that out of the way.

Not sure I know of anyone that would turn down a full ride to a school well known for educating students in their chosen career just cause they didn't like the school's basketball team.
Matt Jones wants to get into politics. Let him go for it and get his butt kicked. Kentucky is not going liberal just because Matt Jones is the UK representative. The good citizens of Kentucky have not lost their mind.
Ksr has some strange people that post there. Did anyone catch the post about brad Calipari's calves? They also misquoted Cal the other day. They said cal said bam takes plays off and needs to practice more. That quote was actually about sasha, not bam. They start rumors and have gotten too political here recently. You don't mix sports and politics.

I hope he does so he can have no connection with UK anymore. One of the most irritating and annoying people out there. His ego and attitude sure seem like someone who went to Duke.
He has explained before that he applied to several other law schools including Harvard and wanted to go to Virginia but Duke offered him a full scholarship.
All you haters quit making that into a big deal. His radio show is number 1 in the state and we might disagree with some of his points but it is a 2 hour show dedicated to U.K. Sports and he pisses UL and Tommy Turtleneck and his crew off.
His website is pretty good too. If you can do better go for it!

Why does every thread that even mentions KSR devolve into MJ bashing? I mean if people don't like the site/show or him, why do they even bother with it?
Are the only opinions worth expressing positive ones? Should folks simply stay silent about things they don't like? KSR used to be a very good site. Now it's not. MJ is a public figure, and no one forced him to be. It's not a devolution to point out the obvious.
This thread had nothing to do with the quality of KSR but it was referencing an issue it had. All of the sudden the "KSR sucks" fans come out of the woodwork, and the "Matt needs to stay out of politics" comments come raining down.
I'm ok with opinions but at this point we know who hates Matt/KSR. I wish we could just move past that.

And for the record how many conservative basketball players and coaches have been at UK in the past 30 years If you judge people by politics that is sad. The team we all love is most likely not conservative. Neither is the coach. I hate seeing family and friends being destroyed by politics b cause of social media. That said if every uk player and coach had a different political view than you would you trash them ? Politics are ridiculous. There is no way a country this diverse has only two sides
Matt graduated from Transylvania in Lexington and went to Duke for his law degree, so what is wrong with that.
This idea that people with opinions different than yours should have no platform or voice is contradictory to everything I learned about this country in grade school. Granted, that was a long time ago so maybe I'm not remembering correctly but aren't we supposed to have differing views and be able to debate them?
Seems to me that people who don't want to hear the other side are not very confident in the side they have chosen or have been programmed by the polarization that is promoted so heavily by slanted tv journalism. This culture of shouting down your opponent instead of listening and debating points is crazy, you get nothing accomplished other than inflaming emotions and dividing us further. Which is what the establishment wants by the way.
And the show is what it is. It has evolved into more than a sports show, get over it. Number one in most markets, he must be doing something right. Politics is brought up occasionally but he certainly doesn't force his opinion on others and is respectful of opinions that differ from his.

This is why a sports commentator should keep his political views out of the discussion. I don't live in Kentucky so I would tune in to catch up on UK. But no Jones heads down the path of bashing the governor, someone I know nothing about and spends half the show ridiculing the U.S. Senator and every other elected GOP in the state. So now I limit my internet UK radio news to the Tom Leach show from 9 to 10.. I get ALL the real news about UK, all in one hour and Tom has enough sense to keep his politics out of it. When Tom mixes his politics with reporting on UK sports, I will turn him off.
I agree 100% that few if any UK coaches, players or employees have been conservative for the past 100 years. That is a given as it is a public university. If they were conservative and spoke out they would be told to shut up or get out. That is the American University system. I understand that.
Not sure what what show you listened to but I've never heard him ridicule anyone for any political belief. Only for the stupid stuff that they do. That includes both sides of the political spectrum and himself and his friends!

I immediately skip any KSR post that is not sports related. I can't stand the stupid restaurant rankings and other pointless crap they do on there. The satire posts are a dumb waste of time and not funny. I check the site multiple times a day for Kentucky sports news so I can't bash it too much but I generally don't like anybody that works for them including Matt and drew
I enjoyed Matt's show a lot and even put up with his liberal views he occasionally shared but that has slowly become more of a staple of his show and one day I just chose not to listen anymore. I know he didn't get his liberal views from Middlesboro.

It's got nothing to do with the R by his name. It's because he and his people won't return phone messages. He said everyone else at least returns the call including McConnell, Bevin and Trump. So he's just taking him and his staff to task for not returning voice mails.
Why should he or his camp feel obligated to return phone calls to Kentucky Sports Radio?
I think it's more that Rand will throw these obsessive temper tantrums to try and be cute, so Matt is sort of holding him to his own standard.
Basically, they're acting like 7th graders with public platforms.
He isn't obligated other than the show being one of the highest rated shows, if not THE highest rated show, in the state that he represents.
My main point was to demonstrate that his having an issue with him has nothing to do with Paul being a republican since he has reached out to other republicans and gotten responses from all of them and even had a few on the show.
You asked what the issue was, I told you.
Yeah there's no point in telling a conservative anything - facts and concern for others is just not a priority with you is it?
When you get older you are more concerned with your money in YOUR pocket more than anything. As far as being smart - I really doubt that considering the stuff you believe. Self-centeredness simply does not correlate with smarts, does it strumpet?
