What's this mean for Lujan?

The 2015 team went 10-3 with each of the 3 losses by 30 or more points. I don’t think he was worth 4.5 touchdowns difference in those games.

Losses by 30 pts is often due to having a struggling 1-dimensional O, which wears out the D (one of the best Ds the Cats had ever fielded).

Without Trevor, would have lost against the Domers, Wisky and UM by double digits.

Sieman's passing would have opened things up for JJtBC, who was entering his prime and there would be more sustained drives to rest the D.

Granted, have my doubts about McC ever fully utilizing Trevor talents, such as having him bootleg...

I’m just as interested in what style offense they pursue as who they hire. I still don’t read Braun’s comments as firing Lukan FOR SURE, as a “reset” could also mean something like a total schematic change, lots of portal changes, etc. But if they do change OCs, which would prove that Braun has far higher standards than Fitzgerald, frankly, I don’t just want to see a different guy calling the same offensive philosophy, I want a true system change.

Braun needs to pick an offensive philosophy and hire the best, young offensive mind to run it.

Hopefully, with success, that young offensive mind will move on to bigger and better things and whomever Braun hires thereafter needs to run the same playbook, but can add to it.

Having some sort of continuity on O is important.

Hopefully, with success, that young offensive mind will move on to bigger and better things and whomever Braun hires thereafter needs to run the same playbook, but can add to it.

Having some sort of continuity on O is important.

We just tried the hot young offensive mind. Get a seasoned veteran this time. We can’t be the training ground for Coaches at this stage with an inexperienced Head Coach.

Amomg Lujan's issues, he seemed unable to adapt to playing with lesser talented players on the field after having had the talent advantage.

But like I stated, Braun needs to pick an offensive philosophy/play book first (and I'm not talking super young, but OCs with some level of experience and/or have been trained by the best O minds in the game; Lujan had a really light resume and all at one place which is a red flag).

Wouldn't mind picking up a Lincoln Riley protégé.

His offense is relatively simple to learn (running multiple plays from 4-5 concepts) which is why he has had repeated success with transfer and/or young QBs.

Writing was on the wall for Lujan with what Rittenberg reported and Braun said after the bowl game about tough decisions that affect staff.

No surprise they went for a big name offensive mind like Chip Kelly given he was available. Easily the most notable coordinator we've had in decades (and other than Hankwitz, none could be classified as a top coordinator in the field).

The bigger question is what does this mean for Ryan Boe? Kelly has to be disappointed we didn’t get him more snaps against Central Michigan.

If moving on from Lujan is the move, I really hope that they have the next guy lined up, and don’t have to wind up settling for like their third or fourth choice.

Pretty sure we got our first choice and sounded like it was being worked on even before the bowl.
