What will be the "tweak" this year?

Fight thru screens/hedge harder, make free throws, make the simple pass, and don't try to Block the shot when the guy drives and the defender has good positioning. Don't know how many times bam/wenyen has came from the weak side and try to block the shot and leaves their man wide open for the easy put back.
Stopping the cross court passes in the half court set would go a long way. I've never seen a team throw such long passes in the half-court on a consistent basis.
I was there and we were locked in on defense most of the first half. We are going to be hell on wheels in March as we learn to sustain that for an entire game and cut the turnovers out.
using Fox more in the middle of the zone instead of Briscoe.
I think if we actually "tweak" anything and don't just try to actually execute the plan we already have, it could be going big. Cal loves his big lineups, and I think we're better defensively and on the boards if we play two guards, Willis, Gabriel and Bam.
If Gabriel can keep hitting the three, I think we may see more of that lineup, if Cal is inclined to change anything.

I was thinking something along these lines. More briscoe at point, limiting turnovers maybe?
Starting SKJ who is a 5 star and playing along-side BAM, Willis/Garbriel for a big front line and Wynyard backing up BAM, with them all producing.
I'd like to see a bigger lineup as well. But we're going to get zoned every game and I don't see Cal going away from the 3-guard lineup with Briscoe patrolling the middle.
Someone has to step up and provide rebounding/post D other than Bam. I'd like to see Gabriel's minutes maximized at the 4, let him play though mistakes, build confidence, and get him ready for March. This isn't a good enough shooting team to survive with only one reliable big man. Getting a consistent 6-10 points, 6-8 boards a game from him could change this team's outlook. The 3-guard lineup with Willis at the 4 isn't going to get it done in the postseason.
In other words, just clean up the stuff we're not doing well yet. Obvious. But it's just like Cal to do that and then make it seem revolutionary! We've changed everything! Whatever it takes to get the mind of a dozen teenagers to adjust....
It happened about a week ago when Cal instructed his star guards to feed Bam more. The result has been two straight losses and an offense that looks nothing like the high scoring, end to end offense we saw the first half of the season. Bam is not a skilled offensive player. Not at all. There's no reason to make him the focal point of this team's half court offense. Hopefully Cal un-tweaks this tweak.
Yeah basically just refocus and get locked in. Yeah cuz the key word is teenagers. Ive come to learn that with Cal teams at UK these guys are still young and learning the game. I use to get soo frustrated with the teams throughout the year but I've learned to just be patience and let the season play out minus the NIT year.
Coming over to help and flail wildly for the block while leaving the backside wide open for the easy put back is driving me crazy.

Yeah, there's a lot there, and it's not easy. So, Bam is 21-25 in the 4 games prior, our guards (especially Monk) - I don't want to say they are selfish, but when you can score and/or get to the rim that easily, it's just easy to forget about the guy inside. So Cal gives a mandate - you must throw it inside first! When you have rules like that, it gums everything up - now Monk and Fox are not instinctive, but instead are thinking too much on offense.
So Bam doesn't get the 25 everyone assumed he'd get (especially when we found out Bragg was out). And the offense was gummed up. On one hand, I very much understand the need to emphasizing getting the ball to the interior - without that discipline, without going inside-out at least some of the time, we become very predictable on offense and therefore easier to guard. Plus if you're not careful you disincentivize your bigs. But if you go too far in demanding pass it inside first, it starts to sound like Eddie Sutton and the old "no one shoot until we've made at least 4 passes!" days.....
You are not lying...happened a couple times against KU early and i remember one where we was in perfect defensive positioning and Mykalivhai or however you spell it just threw it up on the glass cuz he saw Bam coming from the weak side and i think lucas had no one around him.
Extra running and treadmill time. It looks like we get tired some times which results in careless turnovers. After that TO we don't run the floor and even if the lay up is missed we're not there to get the rebound. That grinds my gears.
The tweak will be to blow a big lead then start jacking up fall away jumpshots down the stretch while they make easy layups off blown defensive assignments on the other end.

Whether it's because he needs to get Bam's numbers up for the draft or whatever, Calipari appears to have tweaked something that isn't necessary. Reminds me of how he kept trying to make Skal a center last year until it was made abundantly clear by losing that it wasn't the right move and suddenly Skal could shoot.
MAYBE we lose a few now and eventually the offense gets used to Bam more and it all works out awesomely. But right now two games in, two losses in a row, it sure seems like messing with something that wasn't fundamentally broken.
