What the hell Matt Millen?

I cannot believe that BTN allows Matt Millen to continue as a biased commentator. First off, he admitted on air that he was biased and loves Barkley. I now have to continue to watch a very long interview that Millen had with Barkley yesterday. Apparently we have nobody on our team that Millen could spend some time with.

We did own the first quarter and all Millen could say was that PS was flat and not on their game.

I know the score warrants a little love for PS, but last I checked there are two teams playing with two sets of fans at home watching. Again, last I checked we have the biggest market for BTN.

It's very disconcerning that BTN allows this to go on.

Millen is awful terrible they need to fire him. I loathe games he announces it absolutely painful no matter what time it is.

For some reason, I found Millen to be mildly entertaining today. Coud be because I watched the game off my DVR in fast mode so I didn't have to hear all of his talking.

Believe me, PSU fans can’t stand Millen either. By far the worst color guy in the business. He sucks, and we agree on something!

Millen makes my ears hemorrhage. He is a clown and non-professional of the highest order.

The RU posters in this thread care way too much about what Matt Millen says, IMO.

Should he have done a feature interview on Rescigno instead of Barkley ?

Don’t lose any sleep over it, unless you feel that you need to, ha !

Thought the split screen of the game and the interview was beyond belief. Millen called him a ‘rare’ running back. Yeah, rare because no other Heisman candidate ever ran for only 35 yards. Why does BTN allow this??

Millen needs to get out more often. He'd be a "hit" on a cruise ship, surrounded by people who do not get out enough.

Millen is a psu shill and colors most of the RU BTN games, but him laughing at Hayek today shows he is a total douchebag.

What happened to Shaun O'Hara? He did some RU games on BTN a few years ago.

He’s painful to listen too, but now it’s like playing a game listening to him . Watching the Purdue game, it’s clear he hates Rutgers, and for a guy who was a career failure after his playing days he has no problem in critiquing football programs not located in happy valley.

I thought the team that did the Maryland game was excellent -Glen Mason who got bumped by Millen is a bit of a Minnesota Homer but really enjoyable to listen to..I think Brandon Gaudin is one of the best play by play guys in the biz

I thought he was fair today. But the lovey dovey moments between two Penn State legends in the weight room did make me want to vomit.

I agree that Mason has an affinity for Minnesota (understandable), but I think he calls games straight. He has some flair and doesn’t try to beat the viewer over the head with a “I have to prove how much I know about football” schtick. He seems very comfortable in who he is.

While he can be a bit flat, I also don’t mind Chuck Long doing color, especially compared to Millen. I have also been impressed with J Lehman’s work in the booth.

Mcsorley got a ton of rushing yards because we over pursued Barkley.
---
fair point..... PSU risks Mcsorley getting hurt, with all those runs....yes, he is a big physical qb, but, if he did that game in and game out he probably gets hurt..... I personally do not like Rescigno doing so, too much..... I even fear for Blackshear being used too much as a power runner, as opposed to
getting the ball in space.

He was even a worse NFL GM

The worst in history according to a WSJ poll of NFL GMs a number of years ago.

That said, I did love when Millen called out Gesicki for his horrendous blocking.

I muted the Barkley interview, had no interest in it, so my biggest issue is when it starting running into the live play of the game.

McSorley is a big, physical QB?

I really don't care what he has to say, but he was a little over the top for PS. As for the feature on Barkley, yes it was a deserved interview, but there were multiple segments! That's a little much.

PSU fans generally dislike Matt Millen too. He tends to be very anti-PSU.

Can't believe no one pointed out the obvious reason for the interviews... Matt and Saquon went to the same high school. That's why Millen is biased and loves Saquon, not because they both went to PSU.

Multiple segments on Barkley would be over the top IMO.

Millen is a thousand times better than he was when he was on Fox doing NFL games before his Lions GM disaster. Then, he was a know it all who also trying too hard to be like John Madden. He’s obviously been humbled a lot by that Lions debacle. Frankly I think he’s fair (see his criticism of Gesicki’s lack of effort on blocking) and I’d much rather listen to him than Glen Mason who either 1) ignores that Rutgers is even playing in the game or 2) barely hides his lack of respect for the program which is pretty inexcusable for a BTN announcer. Millen didn’t get along with Paterno which you’ve got to give him at least some credit for in my book.
