Ok, we’re in....but what seed do you think we’ll be (I know we have the B1G tournament yet to play)?

as of today, we are still a 9, honestly it will extremely tough to get better than a 8

a first round Big 10 loss will put us as a 10, some brackets may even still have us a 10 today

9: 34%
10: 28%
8: 18%
11: 13%
7: 6%
12: 1%

A run in the BIG will check all of the boxes.Certainly a win vs OSU,Ill.,Iowa, or Mich will give us confidence that we can make a serious tournament run.The top seeds are more or less established ,which may lead to let downs. We need to establish confidence going forward.Let it loose. No pressure now.

Why’s that?

10 plays 7 (which is usually not much different than playing 8 as the 9 seed) - if you win, you play #2 (or 15 if upset in first round) - which is way better than #1 (probably Xavier) in Round 2.

This year any B1G 10th-seed is probably as good as any random 7-seed out there.

edit: also, as a 10th-seed there is actually a better chance to get in a bracket with a B1G as the #1 seed of the bracket. The Committee hates Conference re-matches in round 2. But, not so much in later rounds. Not saying UM, Iowa or Illinois (depending) would be easy... but, we'd know how to play 'em if we did go on a run.
