When I saw the team doing this before the opening kickoff of each game, I was like, "Yeah, whatever. Looks kinda stupid, but kids." When I saw them doing it after the other team scores I was like, "WTF?!?!" Are you serious?!?!?"

Hard to believe it's been happening for a third of the season and hasn't been corrected yet. Yikes

Whatever the reason, the coaches now seem to be saying, “ we’ve tried it your way and are 0-4. Let’s try it our way now and see what happens.”

Smilin mike gave them ice cream with sprinkles after losing, because they "tried hard" He brought a culture that it is ok to lose. Give 85- 90% and you get rewarded. 3 years of this mentality is going to be tough to get corrected in 9 months. I get having fun, I believe Frost wants these kids to have fun. When you are get stomped by Purdue, in your house. The fun and games go out the window. It should be all hands on deck, watching every aspect of that game. To make sure you can do your part, whenever that time is, to make sure it doesn't happen again. You should be pissed off this happening. We have a few on this team that get it. Until we get a whole team, from the 4 and 5 star scholarship guys to the walk ons. We will keep losing.

But that IS this coaching staff's way....they did this at UCF...brought in large speakers to blast rap music in practice...let players dance along the sideline at games, showboat after tackles, etc....

This is their method...but I think its something that should be REWARDED and not something they should be able to do when they are winless going into October.

Seems like that is the mindset now. I though I read somewhere earlier in the off season that Frost and Co didn't want to yell and scream to get these guys to do what they should. He wanted the team to figure it out themselves and hold each other accountable. I think he was doing it that way because that is what worked here when he was here.
We have had 3 years of zero accountability. I think Frost is finding out these guys can't govern themselves at the moment. Time for the boss to take charge.

I trust coach Tom Osborne's methods. Those stadium steps have seen a lot of sweat shed on them.

Apparently no one really watched UCF football. Lots of penalties and a young hip coaching staff, that allowed the dancing and stuff to take place.

Which is all well and good...until you don’t know how to turn it on and turn it off at the appropriate time. If we were 2-1 and rolling Purdue...dance and jaw. Get some swagger back in the program. Same with penalties...not all penalties are created the same. Getting stupid penalties that keep drives alive for the other team and kill your team aren’t the same as effort penalties that don’t quite break your way but are a result of the type of play that will lead to big plays at other times.

It’s not always about what’s happening opposed to when it’s happening. And when guys can’t figure that out, that’s when the staff needs to bring down the hammer. I think frost wanted to do things how he did them at UCF but is realizing this program needs a reality check and the players arent ready to be given any leeway in terms of policing themselves and being disciplined

If it’s allowed it’s allowed. UCF was behind in games over the past 2 seasons and this stuff happened then too.

If you don’t want people dancing when you’re behind, don’t let them dance when you’re ahead. You are asking kids to monitor and police themselves. Didn’t Riley price to you that you can’t leave it to the kids? They’ll skip class, skip workouts, and accept mediocrity.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Situational awareness is a part of responsibility IMO. Kids have to make good decisions and know when certain things are ok and when they are not. Getting your butt kick to go 0-4 is not ok and it’s not asking too much for them to understand that.

Frost never said he expects the kids to be the only ones policing each other. But I think once we get a culture where the kids do police themselves, that’s when we will start to turn the corner. It’s up to the staff to set that standard and I think frost knows that. I just think he didn’t fully realize how hard it would be to establish that and how far away from that we are.

I'm not much of a fan of it to begin with, but it's especially bad when we play as bad as we do. It just makes our players look stupid, and with all the stupid penalties that they get, it's getting hard to argue against that. If we're boatracing teams and they're dancing, I don't mind that.

Our team is one of the most undisciplined and softest teams I've seen. I agree with your approach that we need to cut that crap out for awhile and be more focused and business like. When we start beating teams and playing fast, physical, snd disciplined, then we can start adding some swag back.

Yeah, I guess what I am getting at is the coaches have allowed this to go on to a point where they are saying it can’t continue. What worked at UCF isn’t working here.

Weird - when I cross-reference the jersey #'s from the video with the current roster I can't find a single contributor that can find his way on the field.....maybe it's just bad luck.
