What is our record with games where Cal gets ejected?

That was quite memorable, a real
low point seeing Cal so disheveled and the team who had been such a heralded recruiting class playing unpredictably. We had hit rock bottom, but afterward Aaron Harrison predicted UK would still have “a great story” at the end of it all. Was he ever right! Many see that game as a turning point.
Forgot about that quote. They definitely were a completely different team after that

People are crazy if they don't realize Cal got tossed on purpose. He did the same thing last year at ARK I believe and got the same result, a win. It is Cal telling his team I'm fighting for you, will you fight and it has worked well for him when he does it. They answered and showed heart.

as far as I’m concerned he can get tossed before the opening tip off. Spotting the other team a 4-0 lead and not having his crazy *** on the bench would be a welcome site in my eyes as well as the players. Players got fired up last night after he got kicked out as they could play loose for a change without constantly being screamed and yelled out during the course of play. I’d honestly tell him to shut the eff up and draw up a play if you want to do something constructive, otherwise your just being a distraction and might as well get behind the goal while I’m shooting free throws and jump up and down and scream like an idiot.

Sure. Once again you can hate Cal. I'm not arguing that, it's your right. I come here to discuss UK BB. If people want to just bash Cal that's fine, but it's not really being done in a discussion anymore it's just bashing. What's your point with this latest comment? You hate Cal and wish he wasn't the coach? OK, not sure what in the hell that has to do with anything I was talking about.

Can he sacrifice himself before next game? I know of a great altar in Lexington

I'm all for him getting ejected before the tip if it keeps us winning. Just start throwing some yo mama insults at the refs.

Rick only got tossed oncetaht I know of while at UK. I was there at Memorial agianst Vandy. Thier crowd was rapacious that night, refs got intimidated IMO and gave Vandy every call. Rick was screaming at one of the refs under the basket where the benches are there and got a T. He then apparently said the magic word and got tossed. We lost the game. I don’t remember Joe B ever being tossed.

For some reason I thought he got ejected against South Carolina when they had the really good 3 guards. I seem to remember him near the baseline arguing with the ref and his tie in a weird position I think. I'm going to try and find it.

Edit

Yeah I was right. He was ejected on Senior Night and it was the first loss on Senior Night in like 30 years or something.

it was rebuttal to your cal got kicked out on purpose as it fired the team up nonsense. The team got fired up, sure, but we differ on the reasons as to why. I’d like Cal a whole lot more if he just coached his team during the game. Pay me $500,000 a year and I’ll stomp up and down the sideline and scream like a raging idiot all game and save the university 8.5 million per year. And your right, I can’t stand this coach cal at all, starting to despise him like I did tubby and I starting advocating for him around 2001. COACH THE TEAM!!!

2014. Late in the season.

Cal’s ejections from memory:
2014 - @USCjr - L
2016 - @USCjr - W
2020 - @ Ark - W
2021 - @MSU - W
Yeah, I forgot about that 2014 ejection.
I'm surprised he hasn't gotten ejected in any games at Vanderbilt. We always seem to get a very strange whistle there.
I know I would have been thrown out a dozen times.
SEC officiating is just so awful.

Ok, ok. But how can I know that? I respond to the comment and what is linked to it. I can't keep up with something you are mad about me saying way back LMFAO. Go ahead with your hating and hypothetical scenarios where you are the coach. I will opt-out here.

Would rather have him just go off to the locker room on his own. Can't stand giving up 4 FT's every time this happens. Those points can come back to haunt you.

Ok. You be honest too. Aren't you one of the guys who said we were an NIT team last year early on? Look Cal said Allen was going to get his chance and he played him early. So without Clarke and Allen hitting 3s yes I think he was going to get minutes this game. I will agree with one thing and that is I don't know if Cal would have benched Boston that much if I'm being honest. However, he finally benched Whitney last year after starting him and playing him big minutes early on. Honestly, I can't say it works out perfectly like it did because I'm not one to act like I now alternative futures like some on here. All I know is we got a win and I have been saying for weeks Allen needing more playing time so it's not like I haven't been saying Cal needs to make some changes, he does. That's me being honest.
KyFaninNC answered your question but after reading your post I find it interesting and containing fair points. I honestly believe if Cal had remained on the sidelines Allen would have gotten several minutes in the second half but probably not been on the floor during the OT's Boston would not have remained on the bench and been on the floor at the start of the first OT (if there had been one)

I don't believe we would have won the game if Cal had remained on the sidelines. His leaving did fire up the team (but that lasts only so long) Cal would not have allowed the game to play out as it did. His substitution pattern would have varied widely from the one that was used. His on court antics seem to be as much a distraction to our players as his coaching is useful.

I don't hate Cal but I don't have any confidence that he can get good basketball out of this group right now.

I don't see how anyone can question the notion that Allen should have been playing minutes in every game this season or that Boston's minutes should have decreased over the past few games.
