I work through a garden center. There has definitely been an increase of DIY garden projects. Sales numbers are way above average. Easy to social distance and shop.

What is everybody else doing with the extra time spent at home?

Yep, I’ve been planting some yard plants. Went to HD on Saturday to get some topsoil....it was a zoo. Luckily didn’t have to actually go inside. Social distancing about impossible. Yes I was part of the problem I know.

i noticed this the other day that home depot was slammed. wasn't exactly sure how much social distancing was going on inside the store or garden center. kind of against the point of social distancing if you have to shop in crowds and gatherings to go do your social distancing. i've noticed that also with some of the fishermen crowding up in fishing goods and outdoors stores to buy their stuff to go fishing.

A lot of unexpected stuff to be honest... I am admittedly not anything remotely close to a “handyman”, but in the last couple weeks, I’ve been working on attic flooring, installed a new carburetor on my tractor, re-stained the patio, and now I’m thinking about putting down a protective coat in the garage.

Now I’m trying to talk myself into starting a tree house for the kids, but it’s just so dang nasty outside right now. Maybe in another month or so

Most unexpected thing I found was getting back into model planes. It’s been like 25 years since I’ve touched one, but my son and I have been working on one for a couple weeks, and it’s been an awesome time killer. About to order a new kit this week

House projects, yard work and fishing. I have really gotten back into fishing. I forgot how much I liked it. I’m actually even considering buying a boat now.

I was never much of a fisher, but I did love golf, and I just may have to talk myself into picking the ol’ clubs back up. There aren’t many sporting activities with inherent social distancing like fishing and golf!

our house is as clean as it has been in a long time. i've had some ideas of things i need to do, but limiting how much i'm going to meet with contractors to do it or go to home depot/lowes to buy the stuff to do the work. Just depends on how crowd it is at the stores which has been pretty bad at some. mostly just work, cleaning the house, walking around the neighborhood, lots of movies.

Was listening to the news this morning and they talked about all the folks going to Lowes/Home Depot/etc. In the states with stay at home orders, it becomes an issue of "how do we know if they NEED what they're buying or are they just doing home improvement projects because they're bored at home."

Basically, these types of stores are equivalent to going to the grocery store in terms of risk.

If you go to Lowe’s or Home Depot in the middle of the day during the week it’s not crowded. You couldnt get another car in the parking lot on Saturday. No thanks.

The Lowes in Tupelo has been absolutely packed every time I drive by - normally around 8am and 6pm most days. It's got to be the busiest place here other than Walmart or Kroger.

Yeah, the Lowe's in OB has been constantly crowded too. The Home Depot has special hours. I went by there at 6:30 PM the other day and they were closed.

Catching up on Video Games. It’s amazing how pissed if I still get when some little electronic **** commits to Tulsa or Ole Miss instead of the good guys.

Also considering building my first AR, so any advice from any of you out there would be gladly welcomed.

I think they're closing at 6 p.m. everywhere.

I have discovered audiobooks. Nice way to keep my hands free and still enjoy a book. I collect guns and boots. Doing some cleaning and organizing of them while listening to the Dark Tower series on audiobooks. Safe needed organizing. Also some garage organization. All while listening.

Doing the epoxy coat on the garage floor?

I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on it. Sounds like a crazy amount of prep work to do it right.

If you do let me know how it goes.

That’s the plan. I’ve yet to do a garage, but I actually have some decent experience with cleaning, staining, and sealing concrete, and it basically just comes down to a plan and patience. There’s a certain amount of time required for every step of the process, and as long as you don’t get too antsy about trying to do too much in one day, it’s a fairly easy DIY project that ends up looking great

Got deemed essential, but I'm not convinced of that. Still it keeps the checks coming for now.
Had a little free time and am building a couple rustic night stands for the cabin.

My wife and I both still work our normal hours. I spend much less money on the weekends and I feel for you guys that don't get a break during the day at all from your young children. Things are basically the same at my house.

My little brother was using some off time to get in the turkey woods. No luck with the gobblers but he did find a good buck he shot in January 2018. Biggest he ever killed, G2’s are 12”ish.

Watching YouTube videos on how to cut my own hair.***

We’re all in this together. I’m shooting for the 1979 Steve Perry style. We all need to look the same the first 4th quarter of football we attend at DWS.

Golf - used to play a good bit, and have been enjoying chopping and hitting full shots with golf wiffle balls in the front yard with the family.

Archery - been shooting a bow off and on since I was like 4 years old. Shoot recurves, English longbows, and even those newfangled compounds. I have been rekindling my love of the flight of an arrow in the past few weeks. Working on a new 3’ x 3’ home made target for my family to enjoy
