Is he waiting to see who we hire as OC? Is he waiting to see what other backs leave their schools to pick that school? I know everyone says it is unlikely that he stays, but would like to see him announce one way or the other.
No reason for him to rush his decisionIs he waiting to see who we hire as OC? Is he waiting to see what other backs leave their schools to pick that school? I know everyone says it is unlikely that he stays, but would like to see him announce one way or the other.

Like Sit?It would be shear madness to allow him to crawl back in.
Not even remotely similar situations. Blacksshear refused to go out on the field an hour before the game after RU spent the whole week practicing with him as the primary back. A lot of the Offense was geared towards him. Sit asked to sit out earlier in the week because he wanted to redshirt, but he offered to play if they need him. The plan was always to redshirt Sitowski from the beginning of the season. The fact that he offered to play if needed is the reason why he is not getting the same treatment.here as Blackshear.Like Sit?
Classy guyHe's in the portal, beam him the f*ck out. RB isn't a position of dire need. Trade his scholarship for a lineman.
Pretty much my sentiments: I don’t like what he did and I don’t like when players skip bowl games. They are getting bad advice from somebody so I don’t repeatedly trash these guys for making a mistake. We did fire his HC and OC which gave him the opportunity to even think this way. Also the 2 guys getting him the ball were out. I can’t blame the kid for thinking this way because he’s a quality player and our Offense has been FUBAR around him:I'm not a fan of voluntary red shirts or guys sitting out bowl games. Both are examples of letting your teammates down which I always thought was one of the most important things in team sports. Do your job and don't let the guy next to you down.
Blackshear , with the way he did this, has burned too many bridges.
Wish him the best of luck where ever he may land.
Like Sit?
I was not happy with Art's decision to redshirt, but he was supposed to play only 4 games with Carter as the starter then use this as a developmental year. Different situation with Blackshear. He screwed his team and his new starting QB.Not even remotely similar situations. Classy guy
He didn’t quit the team. He chose to redshirt which was a bad decision. Now grow up and stop trashing him. He was our best player. He quit on his team. Half an hour before a game.
It's what it is.

Would have to agree. Plus NC made it seem pretty clear that Blackshear walked in warmups pretty much pissed him off and for sure screwed the team. It is best to let him go.I was not happy with Art's decision to redshirt, but he was supposed to play only 4 games with Carter as the starter then use this as a developmental year. We offer kids scholarships and then change coaches and don't honor those scholarships and everyone is okay with it because we have to do what's best for Rutgers. A kid tries to do what best for him after we fire his head coach and OC and everyone bashes the kid. How about Rutgers does what's best for Rutgers and Blackshear does what's best for Blackshear. If those two thing match great. If not, they part ways. Get over it.
Good luck to the young manHe is a kid that was put in a tough position. Wish him luck no matter what.
To me it wouldn’t have made a difference if blackshear was playing, the defense was getting gases so I’m not going to question him not playing, however his timing wasn’t a good move. My guess is he wanted to punish Hobbs for firing the offensive coordinator , learning a new play book is hard enough on these kids and you expect them to learn a new one in the middle of the season.
you expect them to learn a new one in the middle of the season.
His former head coach is now DC at Texas. Maybe he can transfer there. Not too sure where McNulty ended up, but Blackshear may end up bagging groceries along with him too.We offer kids scholarships and then change coaches and don't honor those scholarships and everyone is okay with it because we have to do what's best for Rutgers. What do you mean dont honor the scholarship? Once you have a scholarship, it is committed for four years. No getting out of that.
That makes sense, if the player is not committed to a said team why should the school have to keep there commitment to the said player. Can't find the thread where this was discussed before but not true. A) Google the NCAA rules on this and you will see that they can legally only be for 1 year at a time (although I am not suggesting its not the norm for 4 year commitment). B) I think the B1G came in and overrode that for league members but C) once a player enters the portal the school does NOT have to honor the ship for the spring semester (See Dana Holgorsen at Houston) or the next year.
EDIT: Found it.
What happens to a player’s current scholarship when he enters the portal?
""The risk for athletes entering the transfer portal is that their scholarship at their current school is no longer guaranteed. Once a player is officially in the portal his scholarship can be rescinded and offered to another incoming student-athlete.
The decision to continue honoring a scholarship is up to the school and can be decided on a case-by-case basis. At most universities, the head coach and/or athletic director would make that call."
