What if we never started recruiting Trevon and stuck with Tremont Waters? He was a heavy Duke lean and it was his "dream school". People seem to look over him over at LSU but he's right up there with Trae Young to me. Trae Young just has more talent around him which opens things up for him more. Not to mention his usage rate is close to 40% which is crazy high. (Bagley is at 27%). Tremont is a legit baller, though. Can you imagine him on this team with his shooting, passing and defensive ability? I'm glad we got Trevon. But I think our offense would be even more UNSTOPPABLE if Tremont came. I love to watch him play; even though I hate LSU. Once again I'm not saying I wish we got him over Trevon but if you put that dude on this Duke team we would be LETHAL

Definitely Tre's length and explosiveness. His upside is better as well. But waters is something serious. Just watch him play once. He's impressive
I don’t think we even need our offense to improve another gear, and yes Waters shooting would do that. May just give our defense more of an excuse to be lackadaisical.
Duval is such a better athlete, and bigger, his defensive potential is much higher than Waters’. And we need guys to lock down on D.

Waters is a pretty pesky defender. I would take Tre Duval because at his best he would give us more than Waters. But if Tre didn't call Duke we would have Waters and we would be a really good shooting team. Our offense would be NASTY NASTY. It's DIRTY NASTY right now
I mean the staff before the season was correct to take the higher ranked Duval and am sure they still like that decision. However, Waters is just miles ahead offensively and is actually a better defender too (leading SEC in SPG)... I don't think you can go wrong with either. Also hard to project what Waters would look like at Duke - he's a great shooter though.
How about "taking" Tre b/c he's who we have and not waste time w/ "but ifs"?
That's kind of like comparing one woman to another while you're in the middle of a date with one of them. It's not recruiting season anymore. It's a done deal. We're likely to have Tre for only a little over half a season more, and you want to waste time wishing we had someone else? No, thanks.

Yeah but if we're going to throw out hypotheticals, that would be my choice. Have a feeling the last 2 years would have gone a little differently too.
I don't have an issue w/ wishing guys who were once here had stayed longer. Pining away for some other team's PG and specifically in comparison to our PG is poor form.
