I think at the very least we are all thinking Nebraska is going to be better this year. We are year 2 in the system. We are getting bigger faster stronger. Frost is getting his guys in here. We have a favorable schedule. Adrian is getting Heisman hype already. Experts are predicting us to win the West and get 8 wins. Have even seen some prediction as to what bowl we could go too. The hype train is the strongest I have seen in years.
Now what if we ended up going something like 6-6, 5-7 heaven forbid 4-8 again. Would that concern anyone? Would you start to second guess things? Do you have a w-l number where you would start thinking something is still not right with the program? Whether that be coaches, S&C, player mentality, talent, Or is year 2 still somewhat of a "free pass" ?

Lets hope he stays healthy, but I wonder if Vedral would be the guy just because he has more experience in the system. Plus I wonder if they will want to keep McCaffrey as a RS.

Vedral would be the backup. They would only bring in McCaffrey if he was looking great in practice and gained like 20 pounds of muscle over summer AND Vedral was just not cutting it.

Agreed. 6-6 wouldn't be panic-inducing but it would definitely be a "we unfortunately need different expectations for the Frost era" moment.

Missing a bowl again (with a healthy Martinez) would be a disaster.

Do you mean need different expectations as in, Not going to win BIG10 titles and NCs or do you mean it is going to take longer than expected to get to that point.
Agree 6-6 wouldn't be an Oh **** moment. We improved from last year so I guess that could be viewed as a step in the right direction. I would make me think, something may need tweaking. Be it the D or different play calling/ schemes. At this point I would think our S&C, and player personnel should be good enough to at least get 7 wins this year.

Coming off back-to-back 4-8 seasons and given the lack of talent on the team when Frost took over, a winning record and going to a bowl game would be acceptable to me in Frost’s second year. Anything less than that would be disappointing.

Do you mean need different expectations as in, Not going to win BIG10 titles and NCs or do you mean it is going to take longer than expected to get to that point.

A little of both to be honest, I'm definitely not crazy enough to think we're going to compete for championships in year 2 BUT having two non-winning seasons in a row would at least put me in wait-and-see mode instead of believing wholeheartedly that we're back on track to win some championships under Frost.

I would bet that is the expectation of 75% of fans. 8 wins should be doable and I don't think is expecting to much.

I don't believe, in this day of college FB, there is such a thing. Nebraska "easily" beating anyone has not happened for a while.

Is Mike Riley still hanging around? Bo was able to beat teams easily. I am assuming Frost is a better coach than Bo. Just because Riley sucked, doesn't mean his **** storm is going to follow this team forever. I think many have gotten so accustom to how bad this team was under Riley that they just assume that level of suck is the new normal. Nebraska should be able to beat teams consistently and easily. Teams like, Southern Alabama, Troy, Northern Ill. Yes, Even teams in our own conf. Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers. Those teams we should be able to beat 75%-100% of the time. Then teams like, Iowa, MN, NW, Purdue, Mich St, we should be able to beat 60-75% of the time. We pull in better talent that 75% of the teams in the league. We now hopefully have a coach who can actually develop that talent.

Considering the schedule....8 wins would be a disappointment. Or should be anyway.

I don't doubt this staff will end up with some really good seasons in the future, but with the talent recruited this is a 9 win minimum schedule this year considering.

I think it's more complicated with whatever the story lines are that develop, but if we showed no improvement in record, that would say quite a bit.

I doubt that happens, but think we are a work in progress and need to keep developing leadership on the team.

Given the easier schedule I would like to see 9 wins - it would be nice to have the net number of wins in Frosts 1st 2 seasons at least equal the net wins in Riley’s final 2.
