Discuss.

Most likely would be a Texas-Oklahoma rematch (assuming OU beats OSU and Texas beats TA&M & wins the Big 12 title game).

i think 1 loss usc is ranked higher than 1 loss bama.

if bama got in, usc would be auburn'ed. (that year, oklahoma lost big 12, still made title game)

Mike & Mike had some supposed expert say that a OU/Texas re match would be more likely than USC making it back in. I think his long shot scenario for USC to get back was FSU over Florida, Okla State over OU, and Florida over Bama in SECCG.

Southern Cal probably won't win their conference and have a bad loss. Oklahoma would have only the one loss to #1 Texas and would have more and better quality wins than Southern Cal.

On paper it would be OU/Texas, but I have a hard time believing the voters letting that happen.

No matter, FSU will not beat Florida.

a team that will not compete in the conf champ game (Texas, OU, or Texas Tech) can get back into the national championship game.

That guy made it clear that you do not have to win your conference to play for the title, and that the #2 Big 12 South school would probably get the into the Title game if Missouri won the conference. He claimed that all the Big 12 South schools had very strong computer rankings compared to USC.

that Bama loses to Florida.

I'm sure that Florida will be favored, but never count out Alabama- especially when a NC is at stake and SEC officials are doing the game.

I kept hearing the talking heads say all Sat night and all day Sun that Texas should be ranked ahead of Oklahoma since they won the head-to-head matchup. Excuse me, but it's a THREE way tie, not a two way tie. And Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech are all 1-1 head-to-head. If you want to rank Texas higher because you place more weight on their close loss, that's fine. But it's just as valid to say that Oklahoma should be ranked higher because they're +14 against the teams in the tie and Texas is only +4.

I'd watch.

Seriously, I wouldn't mind a Texas/OU rematch. Between the top 5 or 6 teams, there are a number of compelling matchups.

I just can't help but thing a real playoff would be amazing this year. But who needs to settle things on the field?
