Well IF you have an elite QB who maintains possession of the ball and doesn't turn it over on your own 30 yard line repeatedly, that probably goes a long ways to help your defense.

Their struggles at QB are a mystery. They let Peters go and he looked pretty good I think at Illinois.

True, but Michigan was below average in a lot of areas, and their struggles went well beyond QB play.
