He briefly played in the first half and just didn’t look he could handle this type of game. Was really soft with the ball against a halfcourt trap, which led to an Auburn runout. Wasn’t seen again after that.
But that one play was enough to lose the game for us. They scored two points due to his weakness, and we lost by one. Pope is to blame for putting him in. He's like a little girl with the ball. A turnover looking for a place and time to happen.

Pope keeps allowing him to bring the ball up the court, and he continues to get his pocket picked every game.
It’s funny that people call him a combo guard, because that’s NOT what he is at all. He has ZERO true point guard skills. Terrible court vision, terrible passer/distributor, and can’t even be trusted to dribble the ball up the court without getting stripped.

Dude is only suited to play one position …the two spot. He should not be allowed anywhere near the point spot.

Like most of the rest of this team I had a lot of hope for him. He’s got talent. He plays like he’s in an AAU or pick up game where nobody is taking it seriously. And it doesn’t seem to bother him. He’s young. I hope it clicks in for him at some point. And for selfish reasons I hope that’s here.

it's a bit unfair because he's playing PG, which he is not. having said that, he's a 5 star guard and is unplayable in a lot of games. Quickley was in a similar situation his first year, and we know how that worked out. But that's the exception, not the rule.

He will not be with the team next season

Im predicting Kentucky is gonna have a very hard time filling out the roster next year. And no one really seems to be paying attention to thr fact that eere probably going to get a lot of out going transfers as well.

The good thing is, if this season doesnt force UK basketball to be torn down to the studs, next year for sure will.

He’s very talented and he could be very good, but…..

He seems to be very lazy and immature. I don’t think he knows where the weight room is and I’m sure his dad is in his ear telling him how great he is.

Even a 2 guard should be able to dribble and handle the ball. The most frustrating thing he does is launch 30 footers early in the shot clock. I’d say that he should know better than that even coming from AAU ball. Not everyone is athletic enough to play good defense, but even Noah can guard better.
If JJ wants to play in the NBA he’s going to have to mature a lot mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Pope has a very short leash with JJ and Jelavic, yet CC had three straight turnovers trying to force the ball down low with terrible passes. JJ has sucked lately but we kinda needed another guard that could get in the paint since we didn’t run a lick of offense. If you are gonna go ISO JJ could have helped.

He Gone like a fart in the wind. We will return, Chandler, MM, Noah, Garrison, Jelly, Mo D, Williams and Lowe. Now with what we return, we need scorers from the portal, at least 2 guys who can get their own shots.

He's a kid we need to keep and develop....not run off. Guys like Garrison...those are the ones to jettison from the roster...even Lowe I'd push off way before Jasper

Jasper is skinny as all get out
He's loose with his handles
He's low iq I agree

But those are completely fixable

He's also 6'5
He's got a nice shot
He's able to stay in front of guards defensively

Running guys like him off is what we used to make a mistake on

You make some good points, but I do not think he's the defensive player you describe.
