Will there be a let-down? Do we start slowly then pick it up or pick up where we left off? Not a lot of offense just 10 pts from 280 yds. Gave UGA a game for a half before folding in the 3rdQ. We've seen how a leach coached team handles adversity now we will see how they handle prosperity.

UGA's poor performance was self inflicted. We should crush Arkansas.

Hell, the 18 point spread might be low.

I admittedly did not watch a ton of their game last weekend, but a couple things I do know is that their offense struggled the entire game and Franks does not have the weapons that he had at Florida. Will they make some plays here and there against us? I’m sure, but my guess is that they’ll also make some mistakes, and I just don’t see much firepower on the offensive side of the ball.

Unless Arkansas does something shocking defensively that just completely baffles both Leach and Costello, I don’t know how they’re going to keep up on the scoreboard. I’m looking for a 38-17 type score, but who knows... it’s hard to imagine us staying under 40 these days unless we’re playing genuinely elite defenses

Run a few more times late in the game.

KJ to throw for 500+ yards

The Defense to play well.

From what I saw Arkansas' special teams look real sketchy. Austin Williams might break a few for some generous returns. UGA just wore them down by the third quarter too.

No question there will be some sort of let down. It's just natural after a big win. The question is whether we are good enough to beat them even if we don't play as well as last week? I think we probably are but Leach's history says we can expect to lose a game like this just about every year. Franks would have to have a gigantic day. I think there are better candidates for a let down loss than this week.

I expect Franks to look more the part than Brennan. But Arkansas doesn't have LSU level pass catchers. I think they may try and establish the run with one of the better backs in the conference.
I expect our guys to again look prepared for the opponent. I don't think the leadership on our team and our coaching staff will allow our guys to think that this one is a gimme. I think this game could look more one sided. I'm most excited to see if this defense can keep up the intensity.

I always try not to get too high or too low with MState football expectations. Great win last week, and I just want us to win this week. I don’t care how we look, just win baby.

Arkansas absolutely has some weapons. Treylon Burks is a legit WR1 SEC WR. Boyd is a great RB. He just doesn’t have the line to help open up holes... especially against a legit Georgia defense. Arkansas offense could be a little dangerous if our defense overlooks them. Hopefully our DC has them schemed up.

Arkansas defense is much improved from last year. Not much talent wise but Odom has them playing with much more effort and they’re more fundamentally sound than any Arkansas defense has been in 4-5 years. They’ve got a legit DE in this Coates kid.

They’ll be tougher than we think but I still think we win something like 38-20

Back and forth until the second half when their DBs start wagging their tongues and breathing heavy from chasing our WRs all day.

We should beat them by 20 but you know how should works out when it comes to MSU.

I just want them the cut down on the turnovers and win and I will be happy.

NO LET DOWN!

Offense will score a buttload of points and look more efficient. Rogers will throw at least one touchdown. KJ throws for at least five.

Defense comes out with their hair on fire, forces three to four turnovers.

The Hogs will not score 10 points and will look completely overmatched the whole game.

Didn't see the Georgia game - is their offense that bad, or is Arkansas a pretty good defense? Will be interesting to see how Leach adjusts from week to week. Wonder if we'll hit 20 rush attempts.

Two words. Boat Race.

Arkansas has nowhere near the talent or experience to hang with our offense. Defensively we may give up more than 10, but I think we pressure Franks all day and he folds like a cheap suit.

First game issues. I saw somewhere that Ga had 20 penalties in that first half.

58-17

Ark gets a couple good drives, vs our backups, and one early score on a trick play. None of it matters. They try to drop 8 and Hill kills them, they move a safety up and KJ kills them.

KJ throws for 400+
Kylin has 180-200 total offense ( not sure the split)
Will comes in for almost 200 passing in mop up.

I think we’ll definitely win but my inner classic MSU fandom in me is still in a weird hold... like I almost can’t quite trust my heart with a girl type of hold ya know? I wanna believe this is the real deal and this is how it’s gonna be but I almost have to see it 2 weeks in a row to really trust and let my guard down to jump all the way in. And by see it I mean see the offense clicking and moving that well in back to back weeks. Hope we come out and win 63-17

I think you will see Arkansas playing soft zone and keeping everything in front of them. If we are patient, our offense should still put up points. Our run defense will be tested Saturday.

Yeah the skill positions were the best part about Arkansas last year. It was the OL, QB play and defense that were awful. There are some weapons though. Boyd, Burks, Knox.

Wasn’t a huge fan of the play calling by Briles in the first game but UGA probably has the best defense in the country so it’s a little early to tell much.

Historically, Arkansas coaches always lose their first game against State. It’s kind of a strange pattern. Anyway, I see us beating them and continuing the pattern, but I think it’ll be a tougher game than most think. We will win a 38-24 type game, but don’t expect a blowout. We’ll still be hungover from the LSU game and keep them in it into the 3rd. Franks had enough experience to cause some problems.

I'm with you. I just watched highlights of the UGA game and saw open we running all over.

But really, I just think the LSU game was not a fluke, so I'm staying with it.

i am expecting a bit of a letdown. Leach was a finalist for the arkansas job, so maybe he has more focus on this one. based on his past performance, we will lose one we werent supposed to, so you would have to put vandy, arkansas, and maybe om in that group...now i would add kentucky and aTm for sure, so we will see which one lets us down. hopefully none, but you never know.

Hmmm . . . I'm thinking that Austin Williams is fielding punts so he can "fair catch" every punt.

Or, if he thinks the punt will go into the end zone, then he'll let it go.

I've never really been high on Franks. I think he has some raw talent but has never shown me any kind of consistency at all. He did come to Starkville two years ago and have an OK game against a great defense by throwing a ton of bubble screens, and he is capable of throwing an impressive deep ball on occasion. But I've never thought he was that good. The last two times I watched him play was the Miami game Week 0 last year and the Kentucky game where he got hurt and he just was not impressive. Florida immediately got better last year when they were forced to make the switch to Trask.

I do agree with the sentiment that Arkansas has some talent at the skill positions and that could pose some issues for us. But I also feel like the 3-3-5 could confused the heck out of Franks if Arnett comes out with a quality gameplan again. Franks can be turnover prone so if we are able to get pressure like we did on Saturday, I expect him to make some mistakes.

Defensively I just feel like they don't have the horses to contain us for the whole game. I'm sure we will see more zone but our answer to that will probably be more Kylin and I'm not sure that's going to go well for them.

This should be a convincing win for us unless we play really poorly, and even then we can probably still win. Just need KJ to clean up some of the mistakes from Saturday and the defense to put forth a similar effort and we should be just fine.

The longer I've been a State fan, the more I've realized it's all that matters. I don't care if we win by one point on a last second hail mary, just win.

I'm expecting a more down to earth performance by all involved. Feeling something like a 34-17 final score with Arkansas keeping it close through 3 quarters before State pulling away in the 4th. That said, Arky is wanting that SEC win badly and State is coming off of a big win, I'm thinking Saturday is going to have me drinking early...

Agree, this will be their plan which is the same

Plan The Huskies used. Will Leach adapt by running Kylin Hill, we will see.

I think Arkansas is better than most in here think. UGA has a very good team and may win the East. Their defense is their best asset. Writing off Arky after that loss is a mistake. They are desperado a win and the first half against UGA gave them hope. I think we will win but not by more than 2 tds.

i don't expect quite the same offensive performance. I think we had the element of surprise last week. Arkansas should be improved from last season so i don't expect a complete blow out. We win by a few touchdowns.
