Just curious.. how many d1 players take the day off because they just arent feeling it? Im gonna guess 0.01%, if that.

If Hagans wants time off, he can leave the team for good.

Nonsense. Total nonsense.

Pretty sure it was a one game suspension bud. Saying its a personal day is just to protect the kid.

Glad you're not coaching. We don't know what's really wrong with Hagans and I guarentee without him the sweet 16 is our ceiling. Let's wait and see what happens when he's back before tarring and feathering him.

Well hagans can still play a role by playing at the 3 for his defense and hopefully rebounding. I’m of the mind that having a pg that can’t shoot is like playing with 4.5 players vs 5

If you have a player that can't shoot, it's better if they have the ball in their hands, all else being equal. So while a PG that can't shoot is like 4.5 players, having an off ball player that can't shoot is worse.

Hagans doesn't get to be a better shooter by playing the three vs the point. Still would be 4.5 :)

We need to quit thinking we know what's going on with Hagan's. We don't...Cal does. End of story. Cal didn't get to where he is in his career letting players walk all over him.
Correct.
I believe Cal left him at home but "protected" him by saying it was his decision. We need Hagans, but Maxey is our point guard and we are better with that lineup we had today. Ironically though, Hagans will have a great pro career because the NBA is a role player league. If you are a specialty role player (really good at one thing) you can eat for years. Hagans is that, a role player. NBA scouts know what they are doing, they can see it and they can see Hagans for what he is. There's no need for Hagans to panic on his draft stock and try to demand the ball. He is not needed as a scorer.

Maxey did a great job being the facilitator but his shooting was terrible. Can we be successful without him scoring a lot if he gets others involved more? Worked out for today but who knows beyond that. I didn't miss Hagans with his reckless turnovers today though.

I thought he was trying to set up teammates first every time down the court. Did you watch the game?

I know he was trying to. Just didn't think he was effective at doing it. He missed big men under the basket a few times. We looked really disorganized until we started forcing it inside

Maxey was 1-11 from the field today. He did have 7 assists with only 1 turnover, but Florida has the WORST defensive Guards in the SEC. I am VERY appreciative of the effort Tyrese gave us today!! But this game shows that being a playmaker can have a detrimental effect on his ability to score.

So, if Ashton can get his head back on straight, we will be in a MUCH better place going forward with him at the PG position.

He has a perfect opportunity to hit the reset button on our pg by going to a much more efficient maxey. Does he go back to hagans who is a wildcard or now stick with maxey who has shown to be much more steady and has a higher bb IQ? What does cal do?

Probably makes fun of the poorest fans yet again. They were pretty funny. CLOD really crapped the nest on this one.

Did you guys listen to cal? Said Ashton needs time away that’s why he didn’t play. The kid needs to be a role player here on out. No way can he be counted on. Cal said if he needs more time ok. You don’t hold yourself out and just walk back into your former role. I think maxey is the guy now unless there are extenuating circumstances

You obviously don’t know what gaslighting is and my thread was very clear. The gaslighting is you lying that I said I’m tired of cal and that’s it. That’s the very definition of gaslighting.

Let's be honest here, if we lost this wouldn't be a debate. Everyone would be saying we have to have Hagans back to have a chance at a run, just so happened Brooks and Juzang played as well as they have all year and we were very fortunate to win.
