What do we tell recruits?

Wow, I am at a loss right now. I don't even now. It is getting to the point that the coaches can't keeps saying, " you can play right away" obvious this isn't just a player issue any more. I don't know as a team how you mentally come back from this. We could see a quit in the team like we saw last year.

But coach - even with new players, are you still going to coach the same?
And how’s that..Frost has the players he was given. When you have players that have 2,3 and 4 years of game experience that continually **** up with penalties and bad play and no one on the bench any better, I’d say Nebraska needs a BIG turnover in its roster!
Come to Nebraska, great facilities, great school and a coach that Will turn it around! With kids that want to play!!

Immediately tell them to find another school. Fire Moos and Frost, bring in Trev Alberts and shut down the football program as soon as possible. Forfeit all remaining games. Have I covered all the panic buttons now?

If you're not panicking when the team is 0-6 and has completely melted down, you might not have a pulse.

I would tell recruits that the center who had the bad snap (#63), the safety who got burnt all game (#24), the guard who had multiple penalties and a blown assignment for a strip sack TD (#67), and the LB who can't play in coverage (#5) are all graduating. If those guys are the best the Nebraska roster has to offer, there's a real chance for recruits to play early next year.

Man, I get that - but that's not going to attract the type of talent we need. The talent we need won't come to a 0-12 or 1-11 type of program that constantly is being humiliated.

Try this:
Early playing time
Ties to NFL
Coached Mariota
Young coach with coach of the year credential
Good university with solid academic support
Supportive fan base
Fun offense to play in

Will win some and lose some. Long term strategy will to be build a solid program and slowly gain momentum. if you are a recruiting star watcher, it will be slow for a bit. This season won’t help but every year will get better.

Oh, and NKSHawk has a point. Husker fans are better than that. C’mon man...

Here is the problem. Guys like Chinander appear to need all the help we can get. Frost is getting paid 5 million not to take baby steps. This program better be a hell of a lot better by next year.

The problem is, the players we need are good enough to play early anywhere. The top recruits want to go somewhere where they can win and play in big games. We haven't won a game in a year.
SF is a HUGE recruiter. He will bring in what N needs. Book it.

I'm angry, pissed off and mad. If I was panicking, I'd stop watching football. This team hasn't shown quitting or panicking, that is just what some of our fans are choosing to do.

The team folds often. They flat-out quit Vs Michigan.

Those 4 are at the core of our problems.

Here’s this..once Frost’s recruits have been in the system a year, they will have received strength and conditioning coaching by one of the best in the business! Nutritional foundation to build the best football players by the BEST in the business! And coaching by a man passionate about Husker football, love for his team and the ability to have kids fall on a sword for the team! ( most Juniors and Seniors on this team are beyond cancer and can’t be bought in! Not Frost fault!)

To all in disbelief, get back to me even next year if you haven’t noticed a difference!

The kids that Scott Frost is and will be bringing in will be the ones doing the humiliating!

Back of the ledge, folks. This season is a series of scrimmages. Three wins or no wins. It doesn't matter all that much. What matters is SF instilling the right culture for the long haul.

Or just jump. I'm not.

This is an easy sell. Tell them, we are making progress and will win some down the stretch, even though we have huge holes we need to fill on both sides of the ball. YOU are one of the guys we are counting on to fill those holes for the future and get us to competing for national titles again.

Frost can say - I know what it takes. I was undefeated last year and coach of some of the best Oregon teams of all time, not to mention QB of some of the best teams of all time - period.
