What did Ian Rapoport do?

Yikes, that's a bad look for Slater and the NFL Network. Did she get previously suspended for something similarly posted and went after NFL Network using Rapoport as her example? That's how I read it not that NFL Network was trying to get their share of his advertising/sponsorship dollars.

I really didn't get her response. She admits to getting him in trouble by reposting is ad to bring attention to it but then she calls it a double standard that he was suspended.

Edit: unless she got a more severe punishment for posting her own advertising content

I don’t know what he said but it’s a good lesson for those that scream “freedom of speech.” Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom of consequences, even if those enforcing consequences are ultra sensitive pompous pricks.

Doubt we get the full story here. Looks like it's some behind closed doors NFL Network drama she was ******** over so she used Ian as her example of double standard.

Nothing nefarious... Other than the NFL being ********. It was unauthorized advertising. Unless maybe the family jewels line was too much... But I doubt it.

Slater reposted because it was funny. The "false guises of double standards" quote is confusing, but I image it's about the fact that nobody noticed until she reposted it... Or that other people get away with advertising.

Slater was not shitting on Ian, she was sticking up for him.... After inadvertently getting him busted.

I don't think the NFL are being ********. If someone getting paid by MSU was to retweet something by Nike or Pepsi, I'd expect some repercussions. We can argue the severity, but I think they just wanted to make a point. Long story short, Ian just got some PTO.

Gillette is one of the NFL's biggest corporate partners. And have been for a long time. And not to mention, there's the Robert Kraft/Gillette Stadium connection. Money talks.

Is there something in his contract to restrict this?. Do players have the same sort of restrictions? I am really confused by this whole series of events. It is his own twitter account, so he should be able to tweet whatever he wants advertising wise as long as it doesn’t make the NFL look bad.

Can Mississippi State employees not retreat things by Nike? Serious question.

And if they can’t, that needs to be outlined in guidelines when they take the job or agreed upon later.

This is a big curiosity area for me.....the morphing of personal and professional social media accounts into one. Seems like a terrible idea and practice, but it’s huge thing these days. Whether it’s talking about personal product endorsements, your personal politics, your personal political preferences, etc, it just seems like all that should be kept separate from professional content. If I were an employer, I would restrict work related content from being published to a personal social media account. And I would issue a work Twitter account for that content. It just creates a mess of confusion, conflicts of interest, etc. to not do otherwise.
