So since it is Friday, I am rocking a new maroon NATIONAL CHAMPION T shirt today. As anticipated, it seems to enrage bear/sharks that happen to lay eyes on it. I went into a restaurant for lunch and across the room sat a classic old bear with OLE MISS blue shirt and hat. Looked to be in his 70’s. After awhile I noticed that he was glaring in my direction so I just winked at him and rubbed my hand across the front of my shirt. His face turned totally red to match the lettering across the front of his shirt. In a minute his wife who was wearing her red UM shirt turned to stare at me too. I never said a word as they finished their meal and left. When I went to pay later, the Manager said hey watch this. He called out to one of his employees and said come over here. I have got something that I know you have never seen before. When the guy arrived at the register, the Manager just pointed at my shirt and laughed. The guy ( who had been bussing tables 😆) just went into a rage about how much he hated us, blah, blah, blah. I just laughed and said you guys have a nice day. The guy was so mad that I did look back to make sure that he did not follow me into the parking lot. So I royally pissed off 3 bears minimum today and never said anything to any of them. This is great! Wear them with pride boys, wear them with pride. It is totally a win, win situation!!!!

I mean, maybe don't gloat, but for sure don't back down from an a.hole either.

17 that. They have waved their GRIT Newspaper nattys in our faces for years. Gloat until their children hang their heads in shame.

Just to be clear, I never said anything to any of them. Although I confess that I did probably poke the bear (pun) a bit with the old guy. His hateful glare was just too much to resist. Hey, if just seeing a Natty shirt makes them wig out I can’t help it and I certainly don’t mind enjoying it. Imagine what would be going on if the shoe was on the other foot. They might as well get used to it. Sounds like there will be thousands of these shirts on the street soon enough. Best wishes to all, including the frustrated bears, for a wonderful weekend.

Don't just enjoy it, bathe in it. Bulldogs have drawn their last sweet breath wishing they would have experienced this very thing. We owe it to them.

My tale of when I got my Championship shirt

Your going to think I'm crazy, but when I opened the box it came in, I actually heard dawgs howling in the far distance. When I actually put the shirt on, the hairs on my arm stood up and I could hear my own heart beat. I was instantly hungry and ate 3 steaks, raw. Afterwards I fell into a deep sleep and was exposed to a crazy fever dream. I could hear warm drums and the chants of Native American warriors, they were calling me to come join them, to quench the thirst for blood, to wage war and unleash my animal instincts. I awoke to a massive erection that lasted for days. I haven't put the shirt on since, its in a box, that's inside of a box, that's inside of a box that's inside of a closet that's inside of a room that's inside of a basement, that's inside of a house, that's inside of a neighborhood that I don't visit anymore. I can still hear it calling to me. Only buy this shirt if you think you can handle it.

Rocking Natty shirt #2 today. Traveling and stayed at a hotel last night. This morning at breakfast received congrats and great compliments from folks traveling from Tennessee and Pennsylvania. Got a smile and Hail State from an Alabama guy. This is fun. Bought 2 Natty shirts so I am thinking that I need to go get 5 more. Over the last two weeks I have received calls, text, and e mails from former business associates located all over the Country. It’s been great fun. It seems that the only People not happy for us are the folks from Vandy and of course the bears.

Haven't got a shirt yet but I wear maroon on Friday almost religiously, often with an alumni lapel pin on my sportcoat. Had an early meeting yesterday and stopped for coffee before I left the complex. Was getting in my car and the guy walking by in front of me saw the Mississippi State Alumni tag on the front of my vehicle.

"You went to Mississippi State?" he asked.

"Hail State" I replied.

"You Bulldogs done got yourselves a national championship -- congratulations to y'all!"

"Thanks -- I think we're all still celebrating!"

No idea who he roots for, but it's different. I have never had a random person stop me to comment on my tag except for State fans. This was in Cobb County, west of Marietta.

Wifey bought a large shopping bag full of T's (from the most expensive place she could find of course) for herself, our kids, grandkids and other assorted relatives. I just want a cap...which I will buy when I see the one I like.

I ordered a maroon M over S cap on the ride home from Omaha and got a notice yesterday that it shipped. Wife was in Starkville Thursday and came in with one of the caps the team wore on the field after the game. I wasn’t a big fan of those hats initially but it looks better in person than it did on TV or from a distance. I don’t know that I’ll ever see a State National Championship cap that I don’t like.

Does anyone remember the 8-0 posters handed out in 1999 after defeating Kentucky? I pasted mine in the side window of my Cherokee and usually flew my car flags on the way to work in Memphis on Mondays. I was passed on 78 by some bears and glare I received and the bitching this lady was doing to her husband still warms my heart to this day….that just ran across my mind when you were describing the two bears in your post… I am going to convince myself that they are the same people 😆

Fire a long time I had ameme of a Mad Magazine cover that had Ole Miss National Champions on it. Will have to see if I can find it in some obscure file.
