Bunker Hill- the obvious choice after Friday

Hickory- & when was last time FTF took Hickory?

West Iredell- They got my attention, curious to see how far this once struggling program can go

East Lincoln- North back to an old reality but JV wins could be giving them future hope.

Lincolnton- good time for bench to play whole game to prep for injuries and pass drills. Girlfriends and parents in stands only kinda game

Hibriten- one of the only teams around(other than Hickory) that might be around by 3rd round or higher. Easy game but more competitive than some.



SC- dogs and burgers half off 7 min in. Who is gonna show up for this??? LOL

This weeks picks easier than last week I’d have to say. After AMDs dare devil Burns pick I figured that’d shoot him to the top or top 3. Big thanks to Maiden creek for the tally’s. Should it be super tight at the end will there be a tie breaker game pick?

BH and Bandys dispite the Maiden upset I’d say has the potential to go either way just because of the rivalry tensions and last year East Rutherford slipped past Hibriten but doubtful that’d turn into anything this season. Hibriten just has the destroyer outlook, watched them and Saint in replay on YouTube. I shoulda picked Burns based off my YouTube replay of them and Crest, dang it. Prob what AMD based his pick off of, he prob watched that game too lol

Good afternoon gentlemen. Here are mine:

Hickory at Foard: Potential for a category 5 score but considering FTF is an exurb of Hickory probably a C3.
Red tornadoes by 24.

North Lincoln at East Lincoln: The Knights are having a bad year. Mustangs by 32.

Bandys at Bunker Hill: Obviously Bunker Hill is better than I thought they were. It would not surprise me to see the Trojans clip them in this one. Bears by seven in Flyrod’s game of the week.

Maiden at West Iredell: got a feeling that Flyrod probably gave this matchup consideration for game of the week, but since he has picked M on other occasions he probably wanted to spread it around a little bit.
The Warriors are on a roll and are looking good this season. A big congratulations to them. I knew someone from here that was from the area and was associated with the school. What a good person he was, but I digress… This will be their toughest test by far and could be the toughest game for Maiden, too.
Usually or at least it seems like when the Blue Devils lose they come back the next week fired up. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t think Maiden is so much down as they are in the placement and development phase of certain players. I’m going with the Blue Devils by 7.

Non-conference games

Stuart Cramer at Highland Tech: remember seeing a pencil sketch of a skinny hopeless mouse standing on its hand legs making a gesture at a descending hawk bearing down on it, talons exposed, and was about to take it for a meal. At the bottom of this drawing it said “Final act of defiance.” This game reminds me of it. Storm by 40.

East Rutherford at Hibriten: the Cavaliers are a favorite from the old conference long ago. Unfortunately, sentimental will not help them here. ER does have a viable running and passing game but it won’t be enough. Hibriten by 24.

Lincolnton at East Gaston: it’s not unusual for our guys to play sluggish and sloppy coming off of a loss.
We do manage to find our footing after the first half. Wolves by 21.

Not sure why I’m even asking. Prob don’t even matter at this point, the fella is prob trying to mostly heal for basketball but will do best he can when he is ready or is already ready 100% but yeah, Agee report? I dont figure he played much with a 33 point loss a few days ago

Agee was still playing in the fourth quarter. Looked like he was running fine to me.

It's still triple option but out of the shotgun. It does cause the A/B gap. running backs not to get a steam built up on the hand off. Think the downfall is for one their quarterbacks not super athletic and second with him being in the shotgun defense gets better opportunity to read the play. Instead of happening real quick close behind the line where def has harder time seeing play

With that number id say he took it easy and they didnt see the point of pushing him all out in a decided game. WI finally gets a real challenge this friday. Playing cup cake so far it might be a culture shock for a quarter. I picked em' I guess cause of all the hype but like I said they havn't been really tested yet. I'm sure the EB game woulda been closer if it was week 3 or something, big blowout due to Cavs trying to sort things out in such.

It doesn't need track stars it just needs the right quarterback. A triple option quarterback has to be smart enough to read defenses. I believe I said this in the past but I believe it's harder to be a triple option quarterback than it is a spread quarterback in high school. Most spread quarterbacks are given a play and it's usually one read to a receiver open or not. You have a good quarterback you might get a second read and a special quarterback can make three reads or more with the right line also. A triple option quarterback every single play has to make a read whether he's going to give it to the A/B Gap running back or pull it and pitch it to the outside back or keep it himself.

I completely agree with all you said, I was just throwing in that it works good with track stars cause I think it was 2018- 2019 North Lincoln team, the QB either was a track star or he was pretty close and made the Trip O work REALLY good with his physical ability. Not sure how their current QB is I've only seen one game. Prob only game I will see unless they get things rolling good all of a sudden. Might not watch another til Maiden plays Hickory or EL plays Hickory, better yet WI playing Hickory if they top Maiden. Lots of good un's on the way. WI and Maiden is the game of the week IMO. I'd go to that one but I got a camp meeting this friday.
