Guys, as a boy, I worked (legitimately, house and yard work) for a gangster at one time. He was old, crippled and past going. He had served time in the federal penitentiary for what would now be the RICO statue, but it wasn’t called that then. He wore a suit and tie everyday. He looked the part, too. Like someone you would see on TV. Our town has had some peculiar residents over the years.
Ya'll keep me posted on NL and Agee. I saw last years matchup but this time I'm gonna mossey on over to the West Side of bloody Burke. Its FAT FRIDAY ya'll. There used to be West Caldwell/Hibriten that was a hype game and the bigger one in area that even Lincolnton Hickory area folks maybe kept their ears on maybe even had score updates on it during there game was the big big heavy weight East Burke and Freedom matchup. 80s and 90s was probably the biggest ones def got there early, a butt in every square inch of every seat with people left standing if they so much as got there 30 min before kickoff. Thats NOT the case and hasn't been since prob mid 2000's. Crowds got small even before Draughn and Patton but those 2 right there havn't had much to cheer bout in a few years or longer
Tonight we'll see how tough Foard really is against a tallent but how long will this tallent last at West Iredell considering JV last year and this year as far as I know is not showing much and they're gonna lose some after this year.

Sadly Fat Friday is no more. I have attended a couple from years past and they were awesome games. I hate that we have lost so many rivalry games, but times change. Hickory and Newton have played since 1923 and I still don't see it as a rivalry game.
I don’t see that as a rivalry game either but I’m sure they were some good ones. Fat Friday has lost its zeal but tonight might have a different feel to it. If they run away with it I’m gone after the 3rd

Hickory JVAgreed, but why you got to go just to maxpreps for stats, you see game stats on other websites, many coaches fail to update stats after every game due to busy schedules, you can find stats elsewhere though like I said though participation varies.

Looks like north was somewhat competitive tonight either that or maiden made a few too many mistakes lol

34-20 final. They had two deep touchdowns on totally blown coverage in one of them was placed perfect corner caught up and just missed deflecting it. The game never was in question but it wasn't pretty either we got a lot of mistakes to clean up
Where else is stats posted that aren't behind a pay wall.
Couldn't agree more AMD. A more representative final score for this game would be 55-13 or so. Should have been at least 34-6 at halftime. Way too many mistakes, missed opportunities, and holding penalties. Maiden has a lot to clean up before they start playing the better teams in the conference. After two scrimmages and three games, it looks like the OL would have a better handle on what constitutes holding and what doesn't. But, thankfully, even a really ugly win is still a win.
No underdog upsets last night fellas, pick em's up to speed for all. Not like Newton Conover not to score what in the worlds goin on in Newton. Will Bandys finish anywere in top 6 after KM romp? I thought the Cavs was gonna make a thriller last night but I believe they got gassed. Kinda happens to alot of teams with not much on the sidelines.
Next weeks pick em's look pretty predictable. Maiden looking to try out iron out things on yet another breather game lol. Iron em' out before you face the big red and black kitty cats up there toward that mountain area with ACDC playing while their walking down a long set of steps.

You must friends with some of my Maiden buddies lol So you rather get them from a site that is never accurate, it’s not much that is not behind a pay wall, go buy a newspaper, go subscribe to HighSchoolOT or GoBound North Carolina or something, mad cheap. If the stats are not accurate I’d rather pay, but where I’m from technically that’s not how I find out my schools stats anyways, I was just agreeing with my buddy that the numbers are not updated, The whole point was if it’s not accurate don’t post it. Because you can’t really have a fair assessment on what’s going on with the schools and the season without updated stats. You blame the coaches & the person that do the stats and I gave you a reason why the stats might not be up as quick as other schools.
Most schools put accurate data into max preps. Griz has been doing this for a couple years. Griz aint getting paid to do it hes just trying to provide data for a casual fan. If I want certain data I'll pay for it but im not compiling 9 teams stats for free and paying for various subscriptions to do it.

I pay for HSOT. They don't post teams stats like that. I doubt any newspaper is going to carry the stats for all 9 conference teams. Again, the accuracy problem is a Hickory staffer with Admin privileges. So your problem should be internal and not with anyone else.
If I was out here posting egregious looking stats on purpose, just to mislead, then you'd have a reason.
"The whole point" is everyone knows its not 100% accurate, and if a person in particular knows their teams stats are off, then they can chime in with a correction, and I'll edit it.
You and Duck are the only 2 that have had a problem with it in the numerous years that I've done this. Duck knows I do this, and hasn't had an issue with it until last week.
Also, if NO stats were entered, then I would have put NO numbers in my post (see the NA fields for 4 TEAMS). There WERE stats entered, so that means someone did have time to put them in, they apparently put in inaccurate/incomplete stats according to Duck, there is 0% chance anyone would know that except for a Hickory person close enough to know.
So to address the situation, all you two Hickory dickory goobers gotta do is inform the thread the stats are off. Then the forum goers will know when they read it.
I will say in defense of the lineman last night they were getting pretty frustrated with some of the dirty play from North Lincoln defense.. there was a lot of slapping and hitting in the head and even some eye poking going on in the trenches. Kind of glad it didn't escalate into some physical issues.
