Unofficially, we held them to 64 yds total offense

They had 52 yards on their first drive TD. We shut them out the rest of the game. They had somewhere around -10 yds rushing in the second half.

We got to run 8 offensive plays in the 2nd half. At least we got some playing times for some reserves.

That was a great game! Murphy just kept hanging around and wouldn’t quit. I figure ain’t nothing changed about that program to this day and never will. They’ll always be good!

Aaron Rembert led us to the ‘99 baseball state championship. I’m as proud of that as any of ‘em.

Ronan Nieland caught three touchdowns, Hickory defense was on point forced four turnovers in the first half, held Alexander-Central to -2 yards on the ground, more in the first half, recovering three fumbles & 2 interceptions, Jaheem Jenkins finished the game 112 yards and two touchdowns, he is a beast, slimed up this year, very dedicated young man. Coach Glass & his staff did a great job in getting our reserves in the game, very classy football program. #RedTornadoFootball #2xstate champs

Very Impressive, East Lincoln beats 8A Providence 26-24 and now have a 2-0 start to the season. Georgia Commit 5-star Jaxon Dollar, he is a beast he will be a problem for every team on East Lincoln schedule this season, On both sides of the ball

One of the greatest high school football teams the state has ever seen, the 1996 reunion I believe is on the 25th at home against North Lincoln. HHS outscored opponents 212-34, forever entering a debate about the best high school football team of all-time in North Carolina. What so crazy is we had one home game in the playoffs we actually beat Statesville twice that season we played them second game of the season beat them 42-10 then seen them again in the Regionals in the playoffs and shut them out 35-0 in Stateville, rumors has it that they wet the field up before we got there LOL the NCHSAA must of had something against us that year. I don't know how an undefeated team plays one HOME game, maybe the state had something against us that year, but the results were exactly what we thought it was going to be. #RedTorandoFootball

Nobody can stop that kid with one-on-one coverage, what is he 6'6" super athletic great hands, we beat East Lincoln last year 31-28 with Jaxon playing the whole game in Denver last year, I think y'all loss to them without him in Maiden, we had our tallest guy on him last year Dorrian Medley he was about 6'3" long arms, he is at App St now, and Terry Johnson he is about 6'1" or 6'2" but Dollar made some very hard catches early but really got quiet later on in the game.

We gameplanned to stop Dollar. They gameplanned to force the ball to Dollar. We shut him down, he got frustrated, he got ejected. He is a hell of a ball player.

The real matchup problem for us was upfront...now with Dollar gone, they changed up to mash us upfront and we didn't have the depth to slow them down. Their defensive adjustments were great too, EL has excellent coaching.

If Dollar was never ejected, it's my belief they stick with trying to force him the ball, and our weakness against them (run defense) never sees the light. Even so, we were only down 1 score going into the 4th quarter.

Yes, he was held to 32 yds receiving in a quarter and a half. And picked off a throw to him. DB was in great position riding his hip...underthrown, I believe, is an overstatement. They tried yet another screen/shallow route to him and the LB popped him good, told him "5 star my ***" and Dollars reaction got him ejected.

I've seen the same Dollar you have. Kid is extremely talented. Holding him to 3 catches and 32 yards in almost a half of football is shutting him down when he could only get a catch within 5 yds of the line of scrimmage.

While he was in. He was shut down on offense. That's all I'm saying.

I've never said anything to disrespect you or called you out of name, I just love football and representing my HOME, But since you want to talk about it, let's talk, Hickory did not spend all of them years beating Cherryville, West Lincoln, Bessemer City, Fred T, Foard, Bandys and Bunker Hill every year then claiming "Biggest Little Football Town in the World" with one state title, now that's being delusional wins means nothing when you are not playing nobody, a bunch of wins with one state championship we got two state titles in football at a higher classification y'all have one, and we did in a better fashion, both of our state titles we went (16-0) 96 & 23 all of the other Maiden fans on here are cool @GrizzlyDevil cool guy, but you get in your feelings to fast. Go do your research we've played West Charlotte, Olympic, West Meck, Al-Young days, another athlete that was drafted in the NFL Draft & NBA Draft, we were facing All-American Running Backs like BJ Emmons, Leon Johnson, etc...................... when you got really competition on your schedule you might have some to compete against.

By the way no I didnt stop at a hickory restaurant after the game. nor do I believe I even paid for entry to game . 2nd u think we schedule the conference we play in . Sorry we haven't grown maiden into a _______ hickory. We like our small community like it is. And 2nd point about scheduling nobody can claim we don't schedule up in the part of our schedule we can control. Lincolnton is a very competitive program and a rivalry and we scheduled watauga for 4 years and last 2 years AC Reynolds. Even our scrimmages are against bigger competition Reagan and al Brown last year Reagan and watauga,South point. As far as my feelings I've learned a while back high school football depends on kids and I shouldn't get caught up into the world revolving around how they play. Because it's just a game for them in the end and life goes on.
