Assisting other Big XII schools by showing them their 18 recruiting class combined with their 2019 commits.

This is because that Recruiting classes are really a 2 year thing.
50 players.
22 starters and then 28 players for depth if no one transfers.

West Virginia is currently in seventh place in the Big XII

36 players 365.01 points.
With only 13 players committed for 2019.

Top 3
Texas 43 543.88
Oklahoma 40 540.65
TCU 40 409.77

Jimmies and Joes win championships not X's and O's.

I can sit here and list about 100 coaches who learned this.

If arrogance, bragging, and recruiting wins on paper could win national championships Texas would win it hands down every year.

Unfortunately for Texas, the game is played on the field, where teams like Maryland who don't have anything like UT's "paper" recruits, end every arrogant, false bravado statement by the end of September.

Of course, there is always "next year" for the UT faithful. It seems the only thing in the "eyes of Texas" are tears of disappointment.

Then why does Texas, who has the best recruiting in the conference, finish near the bottom? Your argument holds little weight.

Some of you are funny.
Charlie Strong wasn't a great recruiter he only had one huge class.

WVU has 4 teams ahead of them by a great distance
WVU also has 2 others school ahead of them that can be overcome with 5 great commits.

You can expect 1 or 2 schools to fail but not all 4.

If 2 schools have issues with coaching and WVU jumps Oklahoma St and TCU

That will only put WVU in third place

There is still a big correlation with recruiting class strength and conference finishes.

Well if you want to compare Texas recruiting to WV recruiting, then that is moronic. WVU can't compete with Texas money.

On the other hand WVU has the ability to bring in transfers.
Because of academic issues Texas rarely takes in transfers.
I think this has been a way that DH has found to supplement recruiting.

It is not Texas and OU.
It is TCU, Oklahoma St and Iowa St that WV competes with.

WV should finish ahead of those schools a lot of the time

This has nothing to do with Texas.
This is just an overall look at recruiting in the Big XII.
Texas signed 28 players last year and I guess this year based on early enrollment and scholarships they can sign 27.
West Virginia sits in seventh with 23 enrollees from last year and 13 commits.
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th are very close.
Plus K State and Kansas who are 9th and 10th only have 8 commits between them for this year.

Actually they can as Texas is not truly an extravagant spender on college football.
WVU can be like Clemson and put huge money into football and forget the other sports

Texas uses football to be able to have one of the most productive athletic departments in the country.
Even having down years they have been Top 7 in the Learfield Cup.

WVU can't ever spend the same amount of money in every sport but they can pick the ones they want to compete in

With the outlier being Texas. Why does Texas consistently under perform verses their recruiting rankings?
