It is interesting to look at the numbers and see just how close these teams are in comparison. Both played some stout competition during the year and split wins with those quality foes. Both teams have the same record.
Crest has a slight advantage in stats but not by much. Crest averages about 28.4 points a game. West averages about 24.4. Crest gives up an average of about 14.8 points a game and West gives up about 15.75 per game.
One edge I see for Crest is that when they did lose it was not by much. They were beaten by 1, 3 and 15 points. West was beaten by 41, 9 and 20 points.
Hopefully will be a good one. Go Falcons

The Chargers are coming to WR with the attitude to win the game. These kids expect to win....that's just the mentality around here and what our kids grow up thinking. However, they better be focused and eliminate all stupid penalties or Crest won't win this game. The Charger defense is good enough to give us a chance to win any game. The offense is starting to jell and the new RB is a load. I think Crest wins if they play smart and eliminate the mental errors. You can see our young sophomores are growing into juniors as they've played and practiced a full season now. This should be a great game.....

There is no visitor parking. It's just find a place to park. I haven't been there in a couple of years but use to be terrible.Only one way in and one way out.

He last time I made a trip to WR was back in 05' when they played NW Cabarrus. Both teams were good, evenily matched and well coached. NW is far from it in past 10 yrs and on. Yeah, I can believe it. Parking is terrible

Don't let the score fool you. ER returned three fumbles for scores 67, 53, 45 yds rtns and scored another TD after Crest fumbled inside their own 20. Another ER score came very late against the 2-3 stringers. The Charger defense is for real...trust me.

I believe held East Rowan's all time leading rusher to single digits in yards.

You give up turn overs like that to us and your night will be over quickly. We may not be the favorites here but our boys can play much better ball than East. Our defense is no push over. You guys give up about 14 a game. We give up about 15. You score about 28. We score about 25.
The strength of both offenses is our top receiver and your top receiver. Blown coverages and the deep ball wil decide this one. Both teams are too good against the run. The offensive line that gives their QB enough time to find open receivers win.

I say we just do what we always do. Line'em up and see. Anyone taking the Crest defense for granted is in for a nasty surprise. I like West Rowan, not one bad thing to say about that program, have a friend up that way who is a great guy.

We have a good shot if we can get the keystone cops to get a good offensive game plan together. I witnessed something very disturbing last week, that has me still scratching my head. I don't air out laundry on a message board, but I will say this. Crest is a pressure cooker, if you can't stand the heat, maybe the kitchen is to hot for you.

Sounds like very similar teams to me. It could be that a big factor will be 6'4" tall and 245 pounds of brutality that no one person is blocking, got to have two or go the other way all night.

Love your passion for your team. That kid is a beast! Crest is a power house program and something the whole community down there can celebrate. I honestly believe this is the Western Championship. There are great teams out there still playing but it is hard to deny that Crest has the talent, mentality
And tradition to get it done.
Also, there is something brewing with our kids. They are well coached and the brutal schedule we play has them ready to make a move. You are correct. It is time to just line up and man up. Going to be a good one! Safe travels and safety to all kids have on the field.

I will be sure to find you my friend. Looking forward to a great game, really excited about making the trip up, I've never been there before. It is, as it should be, two great programs in the second round in front of two awesome fan bases.. I hate that about the sheep, never had one from Rowan County before.

Duh....no sh:t Sherlock. Most teams playing this week on any level A-AAAA couldn't turn the ball over four times and win much less against a good team like WR. I think you're over analyzing the other part lol. Like Rulz said "let's line up and see".....and Crest may or may not be favorite...the bottom line is the play on the field Friday night will decide the game. I really don't see how anyone could come up with a legitimate point spread to say who's favored. That's why you play the game.....

Looks like a collision course for a Crest/SP western Finals or a Burns/SP finals....would love a 3rd rd game w the ponies...a shot at redemption and the atmosphere would be great!

I think West Rowan wins this one 17-14. I'll be there. Haven't got to see Crest up close and personal since my mom took me to Parkland/Crest game years ago

With most of the better players(Foster,Brintley,Odom,Bullard,and Peeler) being seniors you get the leadership from players who have that playoff experience.Crest 24 to 14.

Hope you're right SHS....I think Crest wins a close one as long as the kids are focused and eliminate all the stupid penalties.

Well kings mountain let me down, but my allegiance to the Cleveland county schools has not faltered. So I'll start with Crest, the power ponies have shown improvement, however, the Shelby game to me was more of just pure luck than anything as far as the score is concerned. That and the fact that strange things happen when those two teams meet. I'm just gonna be honest, I'm still not convinced this crest team is better than any crest team in the last 6 years. I still do not trust the coaching staff, but I do whole heartedly hope they prove me wrong. Best of luck Charger fans. I mean it.

Falcon house! Falcon win. Even though we are the underdogs I got to pull for my Falcons. Crest turns it over a ton like they did last week and we steal the game 21-20

The dang shocks on the bus that brought the Crest boys has got to have busted shocks. Those boys are big and there are a bunch of them

West maybe be really good but you can't judge by what you did playing crest we are bad and have been all year!

I my Chargers didn't improve any this year we looked lost every week with the exception of the Shelby game

New favorite is David Devine.... get real man. You really think you have insight and that Clark is ready to go? 2 years and he is back in the finals and the Club will be loving him like Coonie loves South Point.

Some haven't forgotten about his suspension and I think that will ultimately seal the deal. That's just my opinion!

I heard from someone who was there that it was no big deal, but got blown way out of proportion. Much ado about nothing. But someone took offense and then it had to run it's course which included the suspension during the process of the investigation. Whether or not it matters, and who it matters to, is a different discussion.
