At this point, I’m expecting it to break our bowl streak. If you’re gonna play the “if” game, I know that it has to be played both ways, but I can’t stop thinking about how easily this team could be 1-2 if not for a historic 4th qtr comeback, and we’ve looked bad this season just as often if not more so than we’ve looked good.

Now we’ve got the SEC knocking, and honestly… where are the 6 wins coming from? LSU is now a must win or else we’re staring at a 4-8 to 5-7 year. In other words, zero progress since last season, and it’s the same crap every week. Can’t run, won’t throw downfield, and multiple catastrophic mental errors. All while the defense does enough to win. At some point, you are who you are

Actually, if we go 4-8 (1-7), we'd have gone backwards from last year. 0.125 winning percentage in the conference vs. a .300 last year. So it's worse than we think. Our year last year wore more equivalent to a 6-6 year in a normal schedule.

So you’re clinging to hope but that is based off us beating LSU? I get coach O sucks but LSU is immensely more talented than us and historically kick the **** out of us. Not saying we can’t win the game but I’m not sure a loss Saturday is going to make me realize we ate screwed.

I think there is a certain volatility with Leach teams that makes it hard to know what to expect week to week. Maybe we just suck, maybe that was just a typical wacky Leach loss and we end up salvaging an OK season. I would at least like to see what we do Saturday before I know for sure what we are, and we may not even know then.

I don’t know that any games are really winnable with this QB and offensive scheme. But we could win with some good special teams and defensive plays. It appears we go up two scores and Will gets ultra conservative to protect the lead and ends up giving it up.

If the goal is to win at least 6 games, I don't think it's crazy at all to consider this to be one we need. Vandy and TSU will surely get us to 4. Hopefully Kentucky at home will make 5. It's tough to find a 6th if we don't win this weekend.

I have a feeling that even mediocre D Lines in the SEC are going to eat us alive. It will just be a matter of how long it takes the defense to quit each week.

We haven't improved enough to show volatility. We just consistently suck right now. Our "good" offensive showings have us showing some signs of life but not actually moving beyond sucking.

This is not an air raid issue. We can't run this offense at a mildly competent level and it's unclear to me why. I'm not shocked that we can't run it against solid SEC defenses yet, but in year two, we should be able to move the ball against Memphis and La Tech. For some reason, Leach is not making reasonable progress with the offense.

The money is coming in on MSU to beat LSU. Line has moved from +4 to +2.5 as of now.

Your problem is that you've probably only watched our games and haven't consumed the plethora of games this year to understand that the baseline average team is way down this year compared to years past. The best team this year, Alabama, would be fringe top 10 in the early 2010s. The teams in the top 10 would be lucky to be top 25 teams then. Teams just aren't good.

LSU is bad. UCLA was overrated on that victory and it showed with their loss to Fresno State. LSU would be 7th in the West in most years and only this year they have competition because others are so bad. Texas A&M has a more inept offense than us with their current QB situation. It's very conceivable that we are 4-1 heading into the Alabama game and we'll look back at the Memphis game as having been our toughest opponent of our first 5 (I still think it's NC State and think they are the team that could possibly upend Clemson. Though Clemson getting a scare last week backs me off that pick.)

You may be right in a vacuum with how good / bad we are; however, you are vastly overrating our SECW brethren and most good teams in general. 10 years ago to this point of the season I wouldn't have A&M in my top 25 let alone being #7.

And if you want some quick transitive property math to feel better. MSU beat NC State by 14 who beat USF by 45 in a shutout. Alabama beat Florida by 2 who beat USF by 22.

So slow your roll. CFB across the nation is down. You're (mainly directed at all the people mad at Leach) holding us to a standard that if we met we'd easily be top 5 if not #2 by the Alabama game.

A&M vs. State could be a first to 10 wins game. I think we take them 14-3. Their QB is bad. Really, really bad. So bad that if we had him instead of Will people would be melting at the 0-3 start.
