The pessimist in me would rephrase what you said to "we're not as bad as I thought". ;)

But, I agree.

This team showed me enough tonight to make me believe that they have a real shot at making serious noise in March.

They will need to work really hard to do it, but I think Cal will get them there.
That is where I am as well. No payer jumps off the page. That can be bad or good. We are going to need Green to gain confidence and let it be his team. He has to take a few more threes. Washington is going to have to get in beast mode around the basket. Knox can’t just settle for jumpers. Our big men by committee have to be more productive. The mystery is what will we get from J, Vanderbilt and Baker. It will be interesting to say the least.

Basically the team has a ton of deficiencies and rawness compared to other Cal UK teams. But they are insane long and that makes up for a ton.
Raw? Yes for sure. Deficiencies? Don't know about that. This team has three mega talented wings (including SGA) to build around. We are miles better at the forward position than last year. Even though Washington looks lost on occaison, he is a highly skilled player who will get significantly better by March. SKJ and Richards are capable players who will give us enough inside play. I am warming up to Green the more I see him and believe he will improve dramatically.

We'll clean up the silly Freshman turnovers, and with our size and athleticism, we have the potential to be scary good on D. I love this team's potential....whether we get there or not will come down to team chemistry...Cal has proven to be pretty good at aspect, so I like our chances.

I would say there are potentially deficiencies at two of the five positions on the court. The point guards might be good enough and collectively they have the right PG skill set, but I don't think they have one complete point guard on the team, and they might get serviceable play at center some games but I don't see how anyone feels great about it right now.

FWIW, I think they're in the 10-15 range right now so I'm not really all that down on them.
