If we lose a guy to the nba or overseas that averaged 6 points and 4 rebounds that's mind boggling
Either:
1. He does not give a crap where he is projected and already has 1 foot out the door.
2. He may opt to stay even if projected in the first round.
3. His decision will not be announced next week.

He's saying False to a tweet about his brother saying he'd only leave for a first round guaranteed. TIFWIW
It's impossible to tell what he means. Maybe he means his brother didn't say anything.

The article included direct quotes from his brother, so I think it's definite that he said those things.
It's already happened. Orton averaged 3 and 3 and went in the first round.
And what did Dakari average his sophomore year?
Found it. 6.4 and 4.6. But at least he was likely to be drafted.
I will say if I were a Gm id be more intrigued by Wenyen than Dakari. Dakari was a 7 footer that played below the rim and got stuffed at the basket repeatedly his sophomore year and was a huge liability on defense because he lacked the lateral quickness to defend pick n roll.
Wenyen doesn't have the same physical limitations and has a skill that is at a major premium in the league and always will be.

Yeah, I'd guess he's probably gone. Montgomery plays the same position / role, so whether Cal thinks Wenyen is history, or Cal is telling Wenyen it's time to go, seems to lead to the sample place.

Well in that case(and I just looked and Dakari made 800k this year and is set to make 1.3 million next year) if Dakari can make it work Wenyen can too.

We know what WG can and can't do.. We need him.. He'll get stronger in the off season and come back a Junior 6'9 stretch 4 that can drain the 3. The man holds the record for most 3's made in a row in a single game. He can be a huge asset to the 2018-19 Cats..
I think Gabriel leaves. Not because Cal is adding players. Not because he is wondering about his role on the roster. He leaves because of the financial situation his family is in. I still think it’s best for him to play at UK one more year and I also don’t think he will be in a position to earn that much next year. But I’m not gonna to argue with a man who wants to support his family.

Would like to see him back as well. But after seeing Quinn Cook get a 2-year contract offer from the Warriors, I think Wenyen has a shot of sticking someday. But yeah, he's gonna have to grind.
