Philly fan here. Carson needed to go. 2017 was an amazing year, but to me appeared to be the outlier. All the leaks about locker room issues, work ethic, attitude, etc. combined with the on-the-field decline made the decision easy.

No hard feelings about Carson. I hope he succeeds, as he seems to be a great guy. Just was no longer working in Philly.

The drafting of Jalen Hurts is a horrible excuse for Carson's decline. If you can't handle competition, your in the wrong business. Aaron Rodgers seemed to do just fine after the Pack drafted Jordan Love in the first round. Probably didn't like it (who would?) but didn't affect his play.

Really looking forward to a fresh start for Philly. Love the attitude of Jalen Hurts. He deserves a full season to show what he's capable of.

Well you still need a QB....so what do you do???
I would be ecstatic if they could somehow pull off a Watson trade.

I also wouldn’t mind trying to hit on one of the 3 non-Lawrence/Fields QBs in the first round. Mack isn’t getting any younger but the rest of the team should be around for a while.

I will be very pissed when they inexplicably let Allen Robinson walk, though.

Man I don't know if they have the inventory to make Watson a Bear. And they feel like a team that needs to hit on some draft picks...which they wouldn't have much of if they landed Watson.

They needed to part ways no doubt. The wheels fell off that franchise as fast as i've ever seen it happen in the NFL....even lapping the Texans decline.

ha I hear you. on one hand I'd be fine sending 2+ future first rounders for him, knowing they'd likely screw those picks up anyway, and on the other hand we have Roquan Smith.

Ryan Pace - idiot, genius, or both?

Love the trade for indy. Give up almost nothing for a possible top 10 QB. If it doesn't work out, you are in a position to get one next year. Assuming Eason isn't the guy. Allows you to hit bigger needs this draft.

If I was a Colts fan, I'd be pretty underwhelmed. Wentz probably isn't a downgrade from Rivers, but he probably is not an upgrade.

I don't see Watson moving anywhere, Houston has him locked up for several several years. He's good, but I don't think I would really want my team to trade for him if it meant a ton of picks.... use those picks for a new QB and linemen. Lets say you trade for him and he doesn't get input on your next coaching or OC hire.... does he ask for another trade? Also, I think I saw a stat that Mitch Trubisky has a better winning percentage than Watson?

There are a lot of teams needing a QB and not a lot of QBs out there. Some teams are going to be starting some mediocre QBs.

Disagree....Colts needed a QB. He was the best available you didn't have to gut the team for. Colts are ready to win right now and Wentz has played at a very high level prior, more so than Darnold or even Stafford, who I know is already off the market but still. That just leaves Watson, and that's a hard pass for me if I have to gut my team and kill my draft for 2 years, if I can get Wentz for what they got him for.

I'm not invested and maybe not the most informed, but he strikes as seeming to be a great guy but is actually kind of a me-first dbag. I guess he did what he had to do but it wasn't pretty. The Philly brass is probably happy because they got rid of Wentz's contract. It'll be very interesting to see if he can replicate his success with Reich.

Ya, I've always tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. But that's not been easy to do.
Part of it probably is because he came from a small school, enjoyed success at that level, and maybe expected that similar success would follow him around. The NFL is a whole 'nother level...which maybe he was not prepared for both mentally and physically.

As a Bears outsider from living in Chicago, it doesn’t seem like the QB is the issue (Mitch T is just fine! Derrick Carr lite!), it’s your entire offense, maybe head coach that needs to change.

That 5 week or so game losing stretch had some of the worst and most baffling inept offense I have ever seen in my life, and I’m a Nebraska fan!

As a Colt fan I’m kinda meh on the deal, The Colts obviously need a Qb, Hopefully Frank can work some magic, If I heard correctly on the radio they said his contract ( With Philly eating the cap hit) basically gives the Colts a year to see if it works and if not the Colts can cut him with zero cap ramification.

Colts should have ponied up (pun intended) for Russell Wilson. Not sure Wentz is going to put that team over the top.

Best thing to happen for Philly was for Wentz to get hurt so Foltz could lead them to a super Bowl.

If I'm a colts fan, I would be disgusted with this trade. Wentz is not a leader and a bit of a choker under pressure.

Ok. So if Wentz isn't the guy, colts really aren't out anything major and can be in a position to pick their next QB. If he works out, the colts paid nothing for a franchise QB.

I'm glad they know what they're doing. Starting quarterbacks in the NFL make a lot of money except for guys on their rookie deals. I wouldn't want to be committed to him any longer than necessary. So much happens in a year's time that someone else will come along.

If I'm a Colts fan I'm thrilled. People, they gave up practically nothing to get him, and in case anyone forgot...they don't have a QB after Rivers retired. Exactly what were they supoosed to do?? They are ready to win now...plus they can still draft a QB. People are acting like the Colts had choices here and they really didn't. Low risk, high reward.

For other fans here, Andre Dillard was a first round pick offensive tackle two years ago. He has been a disappointment so far. They need him to improve this year to help out Hurts.

25 mil a year for Wentz essentially. That doesn't hurt the colts in the least bit. Still have the 3rd most cap space.

It would be nice to see him produce, but Jordan Mailata can man the LT spot quite well. Former rugby player who just started to play football. Upside galore.

Aparently wentz was the third best QB on phillies team last year i mean when you bench Hurts for a scrub QB in the final game that you could have won.... just to get a better draft pick..you got bigger problems and getting a 3 round pick this year isnt going to fix that kind of stupid.. (speaking as a Giants fan)being an Eagles fan that in itself would have pissed me off..such losers

“Some people just didn’t like the decision, because they want to see Hurts in there, but at the end of the day, this game didn’t mean anything for us. We were still going home, so why not see who else you got out there? And if people have a problem with it, don’t put yourself in that position. The Giants, don’t put yourself in that position. Win your game.”

Given the time it’d take a rook to produce I don’t think pace would do it since he’s living on borrowed time. I’d guess Carr

I said it at the time i dont blame the Eagles for the Giants not making the playoffs.. i would be pissed and as a matter of fact the PLAYERS in the game were pissed as well as half the eagles fans including ALL the ones I know personally.. tell it to the players who didnt opt out for covid.. that had to be away from their families and worked their asses off for what your coach and GM decided to "TRY" someone out?? Give me a break I am glad I dont root for those losers with a loser mentality fron the head down.. I mentioned I was a Giants fan cause Gettleman has done some dumb stuff but even he wouldnt pull that crap.justify it all you want

Speaking to another Giants fans, I think Nick Gates did an excellent job at center.

That's actually not a bad take on the bears IMO. The QB always gets hammered but damn I don't see the other pieces there on offense.

That move makes a lot of sense. Gruden doesn't like carr. Can they afford Watson?

Right? As an outsider looking in... Mitch T is fine, Robinson is great, defense also great. And then everything else is just..... bleh. Maybe it’s the way their offense is managed makes it seem it’s set to level 101?

Didn’t he go 11-2 as a starter, that’s not bad.
