So 3 months in to his new job at NU, our player personnel guy is looking around apparently. Is he trying to leverage more money out of Moos or is he just not a "Nebraska guy"?

Let's see... a chance for a job with a much, much better football program, with a soon to be hall of fame coach, with better facilities, better tradition, and probably offered more money, in a part of the country that doesn't get winter? No brainer....

Job hunting after 3 months at a VERY GOOD program like NU seems a little odd. That's all.Don't you get it! THIS IS ABOUT HONOR!
Eye roll

Normally, I might say there is a difference as well. In this case, IF I were Frost, I would say "see ya and don't let the door hit ya where the Lord split ya." This does not fit the "unity of purpose" theme IMO.Is he job hunting by calling around or did Bama contact him and he's doing his due diligence by seeing what they have to offer? There's a big difference between the two...
Agreed. Lots of people do not like the geography or the weather in the Midwest. There is a reason why about 75% of the population lives near the coasts.I don't think people from the plains states realize how big of a question it is for non-Midwesterners to ask
"do I really want to live in ______________" (kansas, iowa, nebraska, dakotas, etc.
If you grew up in the Midwest many love it - if you didn't it can be a big leap.
In 1988 I was hired as an account rep for a company in Lincoln called Metromail (now defunct). Within three months of being at that job I was offered the same position at a rival company called Equifax in New Jersey. Twice the salary, better benefits, housing allowance, bigger company with greater potential for advancement and so on. I took that job in a heartbeat and didn't look back.Job hunting after 3 months at a VERY GOOD program like NU seems a little odd. That's all.

Did Frost have "unity of purpose" in mind when he bolted from UCF after 2 years?
I am not a huge fan of the State of Alabama either. But the gulf coast down by Mobile is beautiful, and there are large forested areas with excellent fishing, hunting, etc....I know Nebraska isn't fpr everyone, but the state of Alabama is step down in everything except football and the lack of cold.
OuchDid Frost have "unity of purpose" in mind when he bolted from UCF after 2 years?
I think Frost's "unity of purpse" at UCF was probably an undefeated season. Maybe a shot at the playoffs too, but it became obvious that was never going to happen. Mission accomplished. time to move on.

To return to the OP... I can see why someone who is not a native Nebraskan might prefer it to Nebraska.
Lol. I was there once. And I think your assessment of the town is accurate. But I was responding to a post that was just dissing the whole State in general. And overall, the State has some **** going for it. But as far as cities go, I would take Lincoln over Tuscaloosa any day.I doubt anyone takes a job in Tuscaloosa for the beauty and the fishing.

That doesn't seem fair. There are lots of reasons to leave a current job, it doesn't have to be just "more money" and/or "going home"
Trying to tell people what is or is not an acceptable reason to take a different job isn't for you to decide...it is for that person to decide.
What if I got offered a job that was less money AND not in my home town but it was a job to bang porn stars all day?
If he's leaving for significantly more money or going home, so be it. If not, it's BS. Leaving after two years to go to your alma mater for $35M and a power five conference...not a comparable situation.
because you don't want it to be comparable. Leaving Nebraska for Alabama is a no brainer.
I believe in hiring and being hired with some amount of trust and loyalty. I would understand, although I may still be pissed, if someone got a great opportunity and left. You are right that there can be different definitions, but in this case, if it's not more money or him going home, then there's really no other reason that he should leave so quickly.
So you say so. I think it's total BS and definitely not a comparable situation to your Frost swipe.
I gotta be honest...I don't even know what this Welton guy does.
Lol. Me either.I gotta be honest...I don't even know what this Welton guy does.
Lol. Me either.
Ha! You too!Ha, I hear ya, but it's the principle. I'm off to the weekend. Be well.
Shall we just call you Pennsytide from now on? The guy has been here for three months. If it isn't for significantly more money or he's going home, I think it's a BS move.
I’m curious who was in their position longer before they started sniffing around for other jobs - Welton or our new basketball assistant?
No class basketball coach???
