At least we lasted this long and had a chance. We had a good squad but just a little short to be a legit playoff contender. Time to start focusing on the portal. Until next year when we get another chance!

Right back at ya. Your one of these fair weather fans (if that even) who can't wait for the game to end so you can post your displeasure, on what was a hell of an effort. You obviously NEVER been part of a team culture where the guys give their all for 4 qtrs and come up short. losing the game sucks, but as always they fought right up to the last play. I'll cheer for them as long as they do that. If its the chex bowl, whatever. You and your ilk don't care, so don't. Just don't act like it means **** to you when they do win either.
Iowa was in the CFP discussion until 00:03 of the nineth game of the season. Probably better than most had predicted.

Pretty much my point, BUT now we get the usual suspects on here saying the rest of the season doesn't matter. Tell that to Kirk and his staff, and 105+ players. If they had the same thought process I don't want them on my team. Fortunately they are warriors, and not keyboard warriors either.....
Some people can't be truly happen unless they have something to bi*** about. I've never understood that attitude but we all know people like that.
If Iowa drops another regular season game I’ll be pretty disappointed. I know west coast trips have been an issue but that USC run defense is really soft.
Iowa has a good chance to win out. In this era though what are we even playing for? Bowls aren't the same.
It's frustrating. Iowa lost 3 games it could have won. Still struggling to win against top 25 teams. Once again we will lose a lot of key players and Iowa hasn't shown the ability recently to fill holes immediately. Next year could have crippling holes at QB, OL, DL and DB with some ?'s still at TE and LB. Maybe good enough against the mid teams but not against the top teams.
