Please show us a photo of the cuts? Every photo I have seen is 100% peeling. Trump has control of the parks and rec. Lying for a liar is par for the course?
In other parks news, Trump is prohibiting the parks and rec to confirm deaths in national parks. Transparency won't be tolerated

LOL; this isn't Fox reporting, this is NPR. No one on Earth (well, except maybe you) hates Trump more than NPR. NPR is headquartered in DC. If they wanted to expose lying by the National Park Service under Trump's orders over whether there were cuts, or if it was peeling, they have a whole staff of reporters within walking distance of the reflecting pool. There would have been an in depth investigation and expose' on this "cover up" if it wasn't true.
Zero evidence of it being cut. Why won't Trump or the parks post photos of the cuts? We all know why. Another one of Trumps lie and his sheep are falling in line.

I am not a democrat and have never voted Democrat. Another swing and a miss. I stated many times that I agree with most of Trump's policies and am a conservative by nature. That said, his implementation and communication of his policies is trash and I despise a habitual liar. If they get the right candidate in the next election, i'll vote republican.
Many conservatives feel the way I do. I can't and won't support Trump. I hope and pray the democrats win the mid-terms as Trump is out of control.

All of my wife's family are hard republicans. 75%+ on my side are the same. I stay away from politics when i'm with them but they really feel Trump doesn't lie. For example.
He said he was never on Epstien's plane. Flight logs have proved otherwise. Family claims fake news. Facts have no relevance.
He campaigned on bringing down prices on day 1. Hasn't happened. Trump says he didn't promise he would bring down prices. Family agrees it was just campaign speak.

the lining failed due to poor application by a company inexperienced in such a project and then rushed to get it completed. Furthermore, it's poor design/concept in the first place built over a swamp. Trump just does not have it in him to say as such, he would rather start conspiracy and chaos.
I have fond memories of the Reagan/Busch years and then Busch when he became president in 1988. Regardless of policy, they were gracious and dignified, cared for our country and those who lived here. I believe the Obamas were as well. But what we have now disgusts me, Trump and is family are disgraceful humans, only out for themselves. Then to see what they have done to the Whitehouse, looks as Liberace decorated the place and to just tear down a third of it to build some tacky ridiculous temple to himself. And you are correct, Trump family members attended high level meetings, one took place last week and Rubio flat out lied about that when asked why wasTrump's other son in law in attendence, it just stinks.

I think the pattern is pretty clear that Trump doesn't tolerate his agency heads contradicting him on anything. I think we've all seen video of his cabinet meetings where he goes around the room and his agency heads take their 5 mins to tell Trump how he's the best and smartest human in history while they say they totally agree with everything he says and does. That's pretty revealing. I don't know about you, but I don't agree wtih any human being on everything, not even my wife or my adult children. I certainly don't tell them they are never wrong and are always right.
It's like the Clemson athletic department coming out and saying Dabo was right after all. Ok, if so, show us the evidence and let us make up our own minds. I trust the American public can decide if we are shown the evidence of something making this huge cut.

Agency heads " circling the wagons" is hardly anything new, is it? I remember a bunch of people in the same position extolling the mental acuity of a guy with severely declining mental faculties.
That being said, we know for a fact the field next to the pond was vandalized right about the same time with a lot of chemicals. Maybe wanting more proof is good, but the notion of vandalism is not exactly out of left field considering that.

Frankly, I have not been keeping up with the pool situation. I said from the get go, I would not be shocked if it was vandalism. But at the same time, I would not be shocked if it was incompetence by the guy whose company was awarded a "no bid" contract (Cafaro). I would love to see evidence if it was vandalism.
My wife is on her way back right now from DC. She and a bunch of her DAR friends were attending the DAR Continental Congress since this past Monday. I hope to pick her up at 6 or 7 pm. She called me earlier in the week saying one of her friends, a Mississippi State graduate and huge Trump supporter. wanted to visit the pool. I told my wife that if she visits that pool, to not so much as breathe towards it or she might get handcuffed. I told her I have my hands full dog sitting a beagle and a maltipoo. I don't want to have to bail her out.
As a side comment, that Mississippi State grad and her husband are good people. I was talking with him a couple of months ago. I told him that I hope the Miss. State football team takes it easy on us when they visit Columbia in the Fall. He said that would be 2 horrible football programs playing to see who will embarrass themselves the most. I thought to myself (but didn't say it) that there is no way that we are as bad as Mississippi State. If we don't beat them, it will be a dark day in Carolina football history.
Does anyone know how long it will take to repair the pool? Is Cafaro's guys doing the repair?

The most likely scenario,imo, is that it was a rushed job, with all the complications/failures that come with that. THEN it became a thing to start vandalizing it.
Yeah, I am not sure why the Trump administration has made this into an issue. It seems ham-handed.
I've been to the reflecting pool at least 7-8 times, in winter and summer, the water was always a bit green or dark colored and it never crossed my mind- never heard it mentioned by anyone, never mentioned by a tour guide, it was never an issue to anyone. It certainly wasn't an issue 2-3 years ago. No one cared.
All that said, I do wish they'd simply show the photos of someone cutting it or show who they think cut it. Posting photos of tourists reaching into the water, touching the water, or simply standing near the water isn't going to convince any fairminded person of anything other than they must not have any evidence yet.
