We'll never see a game like LSU-A&M again

I understand the reasoning, but it’s almost like going to PKs in soccer at that point.

I was as drunk as I had ever been when I turned into that game near the end. I passed out, woke up and sobered up before it was over. Surreal.

This is stupid. There have only been 11 games that have ever even gone into 5+ overtimes. Why implement a rule that removes the possibility of an all time classic like the LSU-aTm game when it is such a rare occurrence?

I'm fine with it. I would like to see them eliminate kicking all together from OT. No FG attempt or PAT. score damnit

In this scenario if the first team with the ball turned it over then the other team would still be forced to score a td. Possible extending the game. But I would have been fine with 2 point conversions only. But they didn't ask me.

So now we have THREE different ways games can be decided after regulation? Ridiculous. Just make it like a regular quarter change if the score is tied after 4 quarters. Swap ends and just keep playing until somebody scores.

Well, it essentially is going straight to what the LSU - A&M game turned into anyway, which is a 2-pt conversion contest. The defenses were gassed...once the 5th OT started it be was just automatic TD’s every time for both sides. Which is what usually happens when you combine a tired defense with a team getting the ball on your 25 with up to 12 downs to punch it in (or more, in the event of penalties).
