Well I'm certainly disappointed

Wait, really?

We've won two bowl games, and everyone should be reminded that while the pinstripe win certainly was lovely, we knocked out Peterman pretty early and their starting RB was hurt too. Thorson was mediocre at best in that game. JJTBC carried us on his back and we capitalized on a bad backup QB

McCall and Hank have shown the ability to prep their units very well for the postseason play. NU has been right there in the 4th quarter of nearly every bowl game (2015 is the exception).

The fact the Cats were even competitive in the games against Texas Tech and A&M were minor miracles in themselves.

Please stop. The people who will remember this game are first the players, who I'm sure will have a great time, especially if they bring home a win. Secondly, it will be important to future recruits, since making to a bowl is high up on a high school kids to do list. Finally NU fans will remember it because it could be the first time in modern history that the Cats have won two bowl games, back to back. So stop the whining and stop giving UK bulletin board material.

You "had me" until the last sentence. The rantings and ravings of NU Cats fans on this Board won't amount to a hill of beans to KY players, coaches, or anyone that matters for KY. Nor would I expect Jackson, Thorson or Fitz, at the press conference following our decisive win, to suggest that they were motivated because Kentucky Cat dissed them on the Rivals Board.

As someone who went to the games in 2010 (thought the turnout was good that year) & 2016 (Tennessee's take over was predictable given their "bowl drought") I must say the bowl that his company sponsors and their obvious pandering to Michigan (and Iowa) over the years (at NU's expense) is disappointing to me.

Tampa is a fun town. Love Cigar City. Bummer the Outback isn't more friendly to non-blue bloods in the selection process.

NU has been to the Outback Bowl 2 times in the past 8 years with an extremely poor showing on and off the field in 2016. The Outback Bowl is one of the major philanthropic events of the year in Tampa and criticizing the organizers for trying to maximize their attendance, TV ratings and community excitement is unfair

I have accepted NU's shortcomings and look forward to Nashville but I do not anticipate seeing a lot of purple in the stadium-that's simply the reality of NU's alumni base not having any geographical ties to the school.

Student apathy is apparent by their lack of attendance at the games and to think that former students will suddenly get excited about a bowl appearance is unrealistic-if they would not walk one mile to see NU for free , I doubt many will cough up $2,000 to go to Nashville or anywhere else

NU has an ad that they show on BTN about NU's DNA and it unfortunately does not include an athletic gene

Accept who NU is and get your Stetson and C'boy boots and head to Nashville

I don't think I said anything that egregious (my critique was pretty light - the Outback clearly favors certain schools...there's no reason why they couldn't take MSU this year) and it's true that the Outback snubbed NU multiple times in the past before they even gave the 'Cats a shot in 2010...which, IMHO, was a solid showing. If the Outback is disappointed in NU's recent attendance (the school generally does do well for its size and does spend $$ in town), I see no reason why the feeling can't be mutual.

I tend to think you are giving bowl games a little more credit than they deserve (tourism $$ > philanthropic efforts), but you have a connection to this one. I don't, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there.
