1) Hagans...is he good enough at this stage to be the PG for a team that hopes to contend for a title?

2) 3 pt shooting...do we have enough perimeter firepower? We miss so many wide open looks.

3) Depth...got a little from Q but he shot poorly. We needed other guys to step up.
Good points.

1. Hagans is very key. He seems off lately. Has take those in the lane shots teams are giving him.
2. I don't think UK shoots it well enough from to compensate when the inside game is off.
3. Bench is hit and miss, mostly miss. Foul trouble is a big problem for the bench imo.

Great post. A lot of our new strengths that appeared to be developing disappeared. We still played to a stalemate, but that doesn’t really cut it at home. Let’s hope it was just a trap game and a hiccup and not a trend. That’s the kind of game that ends your season in March.
No ****....a loss in March ends your season!
Brilliant!!

This team has lived off punching people in the mouth and outrebounding them by 20. When you face big boys who punch back that you can't dominate at will on the boards you have to be able to hit outside shots. I dont know if they have the firepower to pull off a FF run. KJ has to be able to hit a shot before the last 5 minutes. Ashton..well lord. IQ is actually on line most of the time..I think hes close. I trust Herro.

Other than PJ this team is not that good against good teams, you got to hit FT s in games like this and take care of the ball, and what the deal this is suppose to be the best 3 pts shooting Cal every had.

I will say this.. someone needs to step up. Our offense is pretty limited. No one seems to be able to create separation. No one is a reliable shooter for 40 minutes. We're winning on defense and rebounding. That won't work for 6 straight games.
Multiple times over the past few weeks we've had stretches of the game where our offense was simply non-existent. It finally caught up with us tonight.

One big issues on both ends of the court is that we have two athletic bigs that aren't reliable shot-blockers and neither is great on offense. Because of that we get stuck playing PJ/Travis together a lot and both struggle with tall, athletic bigs like LSU had.

I really like this team, but there are a lot of things we need to get more consistent at if we want to win 6 in a row in March/April.

bingo Hagens is horribly over rated

LMAO what a stupid uneducated take. After the UNC game people were talking about him beating the UK record for steals in a season and now after a loss hes horribly "over rated" LOL This is why you don't do drugs kids....

Agree with OP.

1. Hagan's shooting...teams have him on tape and play way off and clog it up. And he's not John Wall explosive to just get into paint and jump over people and still score.
2. The bench is the biggest problem for me....we depend so much on our starters and get a little rebounding from the bigs and some solid defense in Quickley....but that is about it. Baker is barely above 30% now and not much else, EJ and Nick are shakey decision makers/with the ball, Quickley isn't great running the offense....
3. We miss too many wide open 3pt shots and it's going to bite us like it did last night. These are the reasons the MSU game got close...we can't hit throughout a game and we're talking 3-4 wide open misses every night.
