Some facilities worker probably just got a pink slip for not sanding that sidewalk.
I remember my freshman year in Lincoln. I was walking back from McDonald's. They had a location in downtown back then. I was all cool on the walk back to the dorm. I then hit some ice just like this guy did and, woop woop woop, I bit the dust on some sidewalk. It was quite cold and I don't think that there were many witnesses. LOL

it can happen to anybody.or broke his wrist, dislocated a shoulder, cracked his skull etc. ALL things I’ve heard of people doing failing on ice. He’s young to break a hip but that’s fairly common for seasoned citizens.
It’s so cold that salt might not have worked. Sand and salt is the ticket but even then if the ice is thick you need some sun.
Gotta lean forward so that if youre gonna fall, you got can go down on your knees instead of your head
Well get the heat lamps out then.. ****.. I’ll donate a couple gs to line the sidewalks
I wish I had buried electric heat in my front step and sidewalk when we built our house. I did that at our old place for a dog kennel.
My Uncle did that and split his kneecap in half. Still better than the head I guess!
